Chapter 951: Chapter 429: Battle (Part 5)
Lu Hong, who was flung away, had no chance of stopping it and could only watch helplessly as the Barbaric Bull crashed into Zus’ eye.
Zus’ eye, which was struck by the Barbaric Bull, was originally just an eye, but let out a mighty lion’s roar in pain.
This roar truly shook the heavens and the earth, sweeping across ten thousand miles.
The army of the Eighteen Realms, who were fleeing, all collapsed on the ground under this roar, unable to move.
The Eighteen Realms Celestial Gods, who were closer, also seemed exhausted by this roar, losing control of their own Divine Power, their breaths chaotic, falling to the ground.
Without the obstruction of that yellowish giant palm, the shockwave swept forward with even greater speed.
Pfft, pfft, pfft, ….
Over thirty Celestial Gods spit blood simultaneously.
The summoned Barbaric Bull could no longer stand steadily and knelt in mid-air, emitting mournful cries toward the crimson Zus’ eye, as if pleading or lamenting something.
Subsequently, the Bloodline Power gradually thinned, and its form became illusory until it finally turned back into a dry bone, suspended in mid-air.
Lu Hong, of course, saw that this dry bone, capable of summoning a Fierce Beast like the Barbaric Bull, was a precious treasure. He swiftly darted over and grabbed it.
Although he obtained a treasure, Lu Hong did not immediately investigate it, as there was still a group of Celestial Gods waiting for him to kill on the ground!
The Zus’ eye, pained by the Barbaric Bull’s collision, did not dissipate but became even more crimson and furious.
The initially solitary Zus’ eye now revealed a ring of crimson fur around it, as well as an eyebrow and half a nose bridge.
This change further enhanced the power of the Zus’ eye, and its gaze seemed to form a substantial pressure, like a mountain, pressing on the Celestial Gods of the Eighteen Realms, making their Divine Power almost impossible to mobilize and unable to break free of this suppression.
Witnessing this scene, the Netherworld God, who was watching coldly from the side, showed a hint of astonishment, casting a few more glances at the Zus’ eye.
Under close examination, the Netherworld God’s expression became grave. While others could only see the sinister, furious Zus’ eye, the Netherworld God saw through the void to witness a lion struggling to break free from its plane seal.
A true Primordial Overlord, Lion Poor!
With the strong suppression from the Zus’ eye, Lu Hong swiftly slew these Celestial Gods, who were utterly powerless to resist, one by one.
After killing the last Earth Realm Celestial God, Lu Hong felt a peculiar sensation within his body.
It was a very distinct feeling, as if a fire was burning inside him, emanating a rolling essence filled with Divine Power.
“Divine Fire?!” Lu Hong was bewildered and then remembered the experience bar left by that irritating system.
After consecutively killing more than thirty Celestial Gods, the experience must have been substantial.
It actually elevated Lu Hong’s Level to Demigod, but unfortunately, with a body devoid of Spiritual Energy, Lu Hong had no means to manipulate this Divine Fire, and had no good way of dealing with this spontaneous fire.
After the thirty Celestial Gods were killed, the Netherworld God approached Lu Hong and remarked, “This operation was a failure.”
“Failure? You snuffed out the Divine Lord of the Eighteen Realms, and I slew these thirty Celestial Gods. Isn’t that a grand victory?” Lu Hong was puzzled and questioned.
The Netherworld God shook his head slightly, “Our initial purpose for this mission was to let you know the limit of my power, as well as your own, but… they were too weak, failing to achieve either goal.”
“Ah, well…” Being pointed out by the Netherworld God left Lu Hong speechless!
Then, the Netherworld God shifted the topic, “How familiar are you with the eye Skill you just used?”
“Are you referring to the Zus’ eye? It’s a unique Skill inherent in my Bloodline, and I don’t really have a standard to measure its power. As for its function, there are currently two: one is to melt those Divine Power Skills, and the other is to suppress the Divine Power within Celestial Gods.”
Lu Hong revealed the function of his Zus’ eye and then asked, “Is this Skill quite powerful? Did you discover any other functions?”
The Netherworld God shook his head slightly at these words, continuing, “Try to use it sparingly from now on.”
“Why? I find this Skill quite usable.”
“Haven’t you noticed what’s hidden behind this eye?”
“Behind?” Lu Hong was stunned, recalling the red fur that appeared near the eye earlier, and doubtfully asked, “Are you saying that this isn’t a mere eye, but a lion? Only my current power is too weak to summon it fully? If I become more familiar with this Skill and can summon the lion entirely, won’t this Skill be incredibly powerful?”
“Didn’t you understand what I just said?!” The Netherworld God’s tone suddenly became sharp: “Behind your eye, there indeed lies a massive lion, but the lion clearly carries endless resentment and bloodlust. Once released, the first to die should be you!”
“Ah?!” Lu Hong was taken aback. The Netherworld God probably wouldn’t harm him, so Lu Hong didn’t retort or ask further but nodded, “I understand.”
Seeing Lu Hong being so obedient, the Netherworld God softened his expression and continued with a gentler tone, “I think this Skill isn’t a naturally engraved ability in your Bloodline; it’s more like an ability deliberately implanted in your Bloodline. It’s helping your Bloodline’s Lion clan to summon something terrifying. The more you use it, the more your abilities grow, the more of it you can summon.
Once this lion is fully summoned, it will likely not be tethered by you and may first kill you, who can affect it.”
After hearing the analysis from the Netherworld God, cold sweat broke out on Lu Hong’s forehead. This was likely a trap set by those from the Lion Poor clan.
The Zus’ eye was mighty. Whenever Lu Hong faced a battle later, he would almost always choose to summon the Zus’ eye first, helping him suppress or weaken his opponent. With each usage, the power of the Zus’ eye increased, causing him to use it even more frequently. And this increasing frequency of use played right into the hands of those old tricksters.
When Lu Hong originally awakened his Bloodline Power, he sensed some ulterior motives behind these Lion Poor souls. He had initially thought that by never returning, the problem wouldn’t be significant. Unexpectedly, these treacherous beings had such a backup plan hidden away.
If the Netherworld God hadn’t detected something odd today, Lu Hong might have found himself in trouble in the future.
Seeing Lu Hong’s complexion looking somewhat bleak, the Netherworld God assumed it was because Lu Hong was lamenting over not being able to use such a powerful Skill, so he spoke up, “Actually, it’s not entirely unusable, but you must exercise restraint and not let this lion reveal too much of its form.”
“Alright, got it.” Lu Hong nodded, agreeing, then asked again, “Are we heading back now?”
“No.” The Netherworld God shook his head slightly, “Since we haven’t tested the limits of our powers, what’s the point of going back?”
Upon hearing this, Lu Hong’s heart tightened, quickly saying, “No need, I already understand your prowess and have a good grasp of my own. That’s enough…”
But, before Lu Hong could finish his words, the Netherworld God clasped his shoulder, transforming into a streak of light and disappeared into the sky.
At the same time, far away in the Broad Domain, the King of the Thirteen Realms looked gravely at the shattered life plate.
His expression darkened, the King of the Thirteen Realms turned to the intelligence officer next to him and spoke in a deep voice, “What on earth happened? Why did all their life plates shatter? Isn’t Constant Domain void of any Earth Realm level or higher Celestial Gods in charge? How are you doing your job as an intelligence officer?”
Saying this, the King of the Thirteen Realms furiously lifted the intelligence officer in front of him.
Being grabbed by the neck, the intelligence officer’s face turned bright red, “King… King… Lord, it is… it is my… my mistake in the investigation, please…”
Before finishing the words, the officer was flung away by the King of the Thirteen Realms.
There was no longer any need for this intelligence officer to investigate.
The King of the Thirteen Realms narrowed his eyes slightly, sensing an extraordinarily powerful presence dashing towards his location.
The speed of this presence was so rapid that even the King of the Thirteen Realms felt an unusual aura.
“Immediately send word to the King of the Fourteen Realms, have him come here.”
With that, the King of the Thirteen Realms took flight, moving towards the formidable presence relentlessly approaching.
