Chapter 714 - 199: The Past of Creation
For the dark days that Kefati mentioned, Lu Hong was indeed curious. The Era of the Gods was not the beginning of this world, as the real origin was the dawn of creation, and Kefati was among those who understood that history the best, besides the Primordial Deities.
"Could you tell me more about the past?" Lu Hong asked.
"Of course I can," Kefati replied, "It’s no secret really, just not many are curious enough. Let me think where to start." As Kefati spoke casually, he was secretly urging his Divine Power to strengthen his own domain. Naturally, Lu Hong saw through his actions and infused his domain with Divine Power as well. Although their conversation seemed amicable, danger lurked beneath, ready to unleash a deadly strike should either domain collapse.
"Well, let’s start with the creation. Do you know who originally occupied this world?"
"Please enlighten me."
"It was the Titan Clan," Kefati said gravely. "Of course, ’Titan’ is what we call them, but they referred to themselves as the Sovereigns. Initially, there was no sunrise or sunset, nor was there life. The Titan Clan ruled this dark world, and being lonely, they used their own Life Essence to create the first beings—True Spirits."
"So the original True Spirits were extremely strong and incredibly vast, each one the size of a world; they were like pets created by the Titans for their entertainment. After a million years, the True Spirits grew weary of being treated like livestock for their creators’ amusement and plotted a coup, killing those who created them. The Primordial Deities actually came into being during that time; as the Titans were killed, some of their Life Essence was consumed by the True Spirits, and the rest merged to form three Primordials. Born from slaughter, these three Primordials were filled with darkness and chaos, the first one being the Netherworld God, who had previously shown himself in the ocean and was known as the King of Nethers."
Kefati shuddered as he mentioned the King of Nethers’ name, but being powerful himself, the curse of the Netherworld God had no effect on him.
Hearing this, Lu Hong furrowed his brows slightly, "Did you go to the ocean before?"
"No, I didn’t, but I felt the aura of the Netherworld God leaking there," Kefati continued. "Besides the Netherworld God, there were two other Primordial Deities, named King of Disaster and King of Destruction. Together known as ’Disaster and Destruction,’ they were even stronger than the Netherworld God. One mastered the power of disasters, and the other wielded the power of annihilation. However, they sided with the still-surviving Titan Clan, helping them fight against the True Spirits.
The outcome, as you can guess, they lost. Both Disaster and Destruction, the two Primordials, died in that war, and the Titan Clan was suppressed at the bottom of this world, never to rise again.
After that devastating war, the deceased Titans transformed into stars and the moon, and the True Spirits’ corpses melted into continents floating within the world. Though they perished, a wisp of their will remained, which is the origin of the will of the continents. The continent we are now on was formed from the strongest True Spirit—Great Desolation—who, in a sacrificial strike, defeated the twin kings of Disaster and Destruction and cemented the victory of the war."
