The Red Marsh Sea Area was intrinsically mysterious and unpredictable, its creatures bizarre and strange. The reason that the water appeared red was due to a planar projection.
The plane that projected onto the Red Marsh Sea Area was, in fact, called the Red Ze plane.

Unlike hell, however, the radiation in the Red Ze was even more intense, and its creatures would all head towards decay after prolonged exposure. Thus, no life existed within the Red Ze plane itself, only weird red stones that emitted this kind of radiant energy.
Once the red stones accumulated enough, and their radiant energy reached a certain threshold, they would melt through the spatial barriers and project onto other planes.
The Red Marsh Sea Area was one such affected location. Under the constant bombardment of red radiant energy over the years, the creatures inside underwent varying degrees of mutation, their strength also leaping dramatically. The Sea God himself had once entered this place but could not eliminate the eerie red glow; therefore, the Red Marsh was used as the boundary of the extreme west.
Upon entering the Red Marsh Sea Area, Natidak and Lu Hong instinctively felt uncomfortable, as if the influence of the Red Ze plane from the Era of the Gods was even stronger on them than in later times.
"Shall we...," Natidak tugged at Lu Hong, "retreat? The sea is vast, with plenty of other places to explore. There’s no need to play around in such a bizarre place."
"Hush!" Lu Hong gestured for Natidak to be silent.
Holding their breath and focusing their minds, they could hear the faint rustling noise.
And as time passed, the sound grew louder and closer.
"It seems like something is approaching us." Natidak took out his three-pronged trident, standing ready for battle.
