Chapter 112 - 110: Battle with Tong Ling
"Tong Ling, what do you mean by that?" Ku Le’s expression turned ugly. Just two days ago, he had chosen to protect the Kang Ge Rui clan, but despite all his planning, he never expected Tong Ling to exploit Cui Xi, especially since Ku Le knew Cui Xi was foolish—he just hadn’t realized she could be foolish to this extent. She would believe anyone’s words but not those of her own kin.
When Tong Ling framed the plan as the start of an internal struggle within the Kang Ge Rui family, Ku Le lost the protection that Tong Shuai had rightfully provided.
At this point, Ku Le decided not to beat around the bush and confronted Tong Ling directly, "What are your intentions with your repeated attempts to subsume my Kang Ge Rui clan?"

"If we are to submit, my Kang Ge Rui clan would submit to the Demon King himself, not to Lord Tong Shuai, a mere third-grade general in the Demon Dynasty. What makes you think you are worthy of our submission?"
"Ha ha ha, well said, well said." Tong Ling clapped lightly before adding, "Unfortunately, are they unwilling to take you as their dog?"
Stung by Tong Ling’s remark, Ku Le’s face grew even more unsightly, "You..."
"Even so, I would never choose to submit to you." Ku Le took a deep breath, "Even if everyone in my Kang Ge Rui clan were to die, we would not bow to you!"
"Oh? Is that so?" Tong Ling said with a smile. "I don’t think what you’re saying represents the entire Kang Ge Rui clan."
Turning to a nearby member of the Kang Ge Rui clan, Tong Ling leaned in and asked, "Do you agree with what Ku Le says?"
