After handing the money to Chu Molin, Qin Xue took the proposal she’d written and went to the post office. This was something to be mailed back to Guo Aiguo, and she generally never dragged her feet with that.
"Qin Xue, hi, I didn’t expect to run into you here." Su Han really hadn’t expected to see her here. She had just arrived in the Imperial Capital; the old Qin Xue had never been here before, so she didn’t know where she lived.
She hadn’t expected this life to be so coincidental, that she’d bump into her right after getting off the bus.
"Ms. Su, you’ve come to the Imperial Capital too. Are you planning to open a branch here?" When Qin Xue heard someone call her, the voice sounded familiar. She hadn’t expected it to be Su Han. Was this woman going to haunt her forever or what?
"Yeah, well, business over there is decent, so I was wondering how things might be over here and wanted to give it a try. So, how about it, got any good recommendations?" Su Han hadn’t actually thought that far at first, but Qin Xue wasn’t wrong—she ought to have her own career too.
What she could do herself, of course she would do herself. Otherwise, when she took over Qin Xue’s business in the future, she’d still have to manage other things anyway, right?
"Ms. Su, you’re really bold. Your business just keeps growing. It’s just that I don’t really know any good spots. You’ll have to look for them yourself. I’m really sorry." Part of it was that Qin Xue didn’t want to talk more with Su Han; another part was that she didn’t want to tell her anything.
So it wasn’t that she was overly guarded; it was that this woman had barely been separated from them for long before she’d shown up in the Imperial Capital again. Behavior like that made it impossible for Qin Xue not to overthink.
Who knew what scheme she was playing at? Qin Xue honestly felt a headache coming on. What on earth was with this woman?
Could she really not see from behavior like this that she was in a bad mood and didn’t want to deal with her?
"You’ve been here longer than I have. Think about which places have more foot traffic and enough space. You don’t need to show your face, just tell me where they are." Of course she saw Qin Xue’s reaction, but whether she wanted to back off or not was her own business.
"Over on West Street there are quite a few places that fit what you want, Ms. Su. Why don’t you go check over there?" Qin Xue had originally wanted to mention East Street too, but since Chu Molin was over there, she just left it.
And as for the rest, she’d just let her figure it out. If she made a few inquiries, she could find out anyway.
What she’d said didn’t really count as lying to her, so where the woman chose to go was her own concern.
"West Street, huh? All right, thanks. Are you here to mail a letter?" Su Han looked at Qin Xue. She had just reached the post office entrance when Qin Xue stopped her, so aside from mailing something, there really wasn’t any other possibility.
"Mm. Ms. Su, I won’t keep you. You’re busy. Goodbye." There was nothing else she could do—if the other party wouldn’t leave, then she’d have to issue the eviction order herself. Having said it like that, surely the other woman wouldn’t have the nerve to keep chatting with her.
"Goodbye." Su Han had actually wanted to ask where she lived so she could visit another day, but seeing her attitude, she couldn’t get the words out. Since the other had already put it that bluntly, if she kept pressing, she’d just be the one lacking tact.
She wasn’t going to do something like that, so she could only wait for Qin Xue to come accept her on her own someday.
In such a vast, hazy big city, she’d managed to run into her anyway, so meeting again in the future would be perfectly normal, she felt.
Besides, it looked like Qin Xue had walked here. If she asked around about what residential areas were nearby and what kind of people lived there, she’d find out soon enough. There was no need to make Qin Xue feel like she had ulterior motives—otherwise the loss would outweigh the gain.
