She received a message from Liang Ciqiu and realized the flowers she had asked a classmate to hold were now lying next to a trash can, the classmate nowhere to be seen.
She hurried over and cradled the flowers in her arms, ready to take a selfie to send to Liang Ciqiu when she saw Lu Qingyan and Yang Jiashu with books in hand, heading in the direction of the library.
Yang Jiashu greeted her, "Su Ran, someone sent you flowers?"
Seeing Lu Qingyan’s gaze also shift her way, she tightened her grip on the flowers and after a moment, smiled easily, "Yeah, a male friend gave them to me to congratulate me on getting into Jing University."
She tried to spot a subtle softening in Lu Qingyan’s expression, but he didn’t even give her a glance and walked straight away.
Yang Jiashu hurriedly followed him, "Hey! Brother Yan, wait for me. Are we going to invite Yun Chuan to play video games later?"
"Whatever."
Su Ran stared after his retreating figure, feeling as if her throat was clogged with cotton, her interest in the flowers in her hand suddenly gone.
She took a photo of the flowers and sent it to Liang Ciqiu: [The flowers are still here; I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.]
