"You are mistaken," the Xie family ancestor said solemnly. "Entering Eden means abandoning all ties to the mundane world. You must devote yourself entirely to the Lord God. The Lord God's will is absolute and unquestionable. I do not care that you destroyed the Xie family of the Northwest, just as I do not care about the rise or fall of Great Xia. "The Lord God's will?" Li Xiaofei asked. "Is it the Lord God’s will to destroy Great Xia?"
The Xie ancestor nodded. Then, he shook his head. Li Xiaofei’s expression grew puzzled.
"It’s not about destroying Great Xia," the Xie ancestor clarified. He hesitated before continuing, but in the end, he said, "It’s simply the season for harvest. Whether it’s wheat or barley, oats or corn, all crops must be harvested. Some ripen early, others later. The only difference is the order in which they are reaped."
The other four ancestors exchanged glances, realizing that their leader truly admired the young man standing before them. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be saying such things or spending so much time on him.
Li Xiaofei seemed to grasp something, though his understanding was incomplete. Still, he had no desire to delve deeper into the subject.
"I see," Li Xiaofei said.
The Xie ancestor asked, "What is it that you see?"
