Chapter 510 - 503: Who Else but Me
Creating a knife was not a problem for Gao Yuan, and the Arilan Moson Studio possessed a fully automated CNC lathe, so making a Steel Mace was also no issue.
Gao Yuan valued his weapons greatly, as they were critical to his survival, but at Arilan Moson Studio, he didn’t need to worry about selecting steel materials.
Arilan Moson Studio had a vast quantity of bar stock, which were steel bars of various thicknesses intended for making gun barrels. Although these steel bars were not the best choice for crafting knife blades, they were more than adequate for making a bludgeoning weapon to meet Gao Yuan’s needs.
So, the knife was made by Gao Yuan himself, but as for the Steel Mace, no, it should now be called a steel whip.
The steel whip was entirely milled from a steel bar. The handle was milled to an oval shape to facilitate a comfortable grip.
Though it was called a steel whip, it was actually just an iron rod that tapered at the end and had a point; it was called a steel whip because it sounded better than iron rod.
As for the knife, Gao Yuan used wire EDM to cut out its shape from a steel plate, then ground the steel plate down, added a comfortable handle, and considered it complete.
Gao Yuan’s weapons became increasingly simplified and lightweight, because he realized that while collector’s weapons could be very exquisite, functional weapons meant for heavy and rough use did not need to be finely crafted, as that would be sheer waste.
Now, Gao Yuan still carried a knife and steel whip on his back, but in his hands was a 20mm caliber sniper cannon.
There was no bipod, and the cannon had a simple carrying handle made of carbon fiber and thick hemp rope. It was essentially a loop of hemp rope tied into a knot around the sniper cannon’s balance point, Gao Yuan’s own suggestion for carrying. If it had been according to Jack’s idea, he would have even considered welding a fixed handle onto it.
