Sealed Divine Throne II: Twin Sons of Dragon

Chapter 384 - 191: Celestial Storm Magic Ape_1

A colossal figure standing a full three meters tall emanated an aggressive aura of brutality; in its right hand, it gripped a sturdy trunk five meters long. The trunk was clearly no ordinary wood. Its surface still bore jumbled marks of tree bark, but it was perfectly straight, with subtly emanating brownish-yellow light.

This was a magical beast resembling an ape, its whole body covered in knotted muscles, and it appeared incredibly robust. If it were not for the golden fur covering its entire body and reptilian mouth, its eyes imbued with a hint of ferocity would have nearly made it indistinguishable from a human. Even the way it stood was reminiscent of a human.

Around ten meters in front of it, several people were scattered about in disarray; their conditions didn’t look good.

Red light flickered over each one of their bodies, reflecting different expressions in their eyes - some showed defiance, some pain, others fear, and some resignation. Without a doubt, this was their closest brush with death.

When the three instructors had announced from the air earlier that the demon hunting team would face four level nine magical beasts, they initially thought that if they had to choose one opponent from the four, the Celestial Storm Magic Ape would be the best choice. It wasn’t a flying magical beast like the thunderbird, nor did it have the strength of the luminous griffin or the unrivaled spiritual power of the Evil Eye Tyrant. At least, it seemed like an opponent they could contend with.

However, it was only after they truly came across the Celestial Storm Magic Ape that they realized what a level nine magical beast actually was.

Any magical beast that could evolved to level nine practically lacked any weakness. The Celestial Storm Magic Ape was extremely formidable in terms of speed, strength, offense, defense, and burst of power, and it also possessed exceptional intelligence. The team thought that their coordination had improved over time, but in the face of such a powerful adversary, they were absolutely helpless and completely incapable of resisting.

By now, the Knight of their team had already fallen into unconsciousness, having endured the majority of the attacks. The Warrior’s arm hung loosely by his side, evidently broken. The Priest looked pale as a sheet from consuming too much spiritual power, having barely managed to hold on due to his rather potent healing abilities.

The assassin was hanging from a nearby branch, his body twitching occasionally. The only ones still relatively intact were the Mage and the Summoner. There was only one summoned beast left standing before the Summoner, and it no longer possessed much fighting power. The Mage, too, looked as pale as death due to excessive consumption of magic power. The entire team had been driven to their wits’ end.
