’Is this going to be a problem?’

It wasn’t that it was the Abyssal Dragon’s first time seeing something like this and dealing with it.

However, in all the times he dealt with this form of bizarre black magic, it was all show but no substance.

Yet, in this strange human’s case, it was the exact opposite. It was both show and substance. In fact, even the terrifying serpentine creatures with heads like his own lacked flair when compared to the strength that the Abyssal Dragon had felt just now.

’How is it even working?’

Absolute Physical Strength was the quality that Black Abyssal Dragons were most proud of, but the true ability that made them reign as lords was their incredibly high resistance to Magic.

That resistance grew even stronger when it came to Black Magic!

If this was an inherent ability rather than just a calculated manipulation of magic power, then it would all make sense.

After all, the Black Abyssal Dragons had actually derived their high magic resistance from the Ancestor of all Dragons, who was also crowned the Lord of Magic.

The shadow binding couldn’t steadily endure the Abyssal Dragon’s full force, but Leo didn’t give him the chance to weasel his way out.

With Shadow Movement in action, Leo’s figure dissolved before appearing mid-air, his greatsword already descending on the Abyssal Dragon’s head.

The Abyssal Dragon tried to raise its claws to block, but despite its arm coming loose, it was still pulled down by the few tendrils that still held on to it.

In the end, the Abyssal Dragon could only tilt its neck to the side at the last moment, making it impossible for a greatsword this large to switch direction.

Since Leo’s greatsword was an extension of his shadow, switching directions wasn’t actually a problem, but rather than losing the momentum and ending up only cutting through a part of the Dragon’s neck, Leo pressed downward, sinking his sword into the Abyssal Dragon’s shoulder.

As the same Shadow Flame that had ended the hypnotic monster’s life seeped into the Abyssal Dragon’s body, its vitality started burning away, declaring that this was a true battle of life and death!

"Let’s keep it fair."

Having dealt one considerable blow to even the grounds, Leo withdrew the tendrils holding onto the Abyssal Dragon’s limbs.

Fighting a stationary enemy held no meaning to him. So far, he had just been setting the stage for a proper battle.

[Make sure you won’t regret this!]

Ever since he had reached full growth, this was the first time the Abyssal Dragon felt this much pain. Yet, this pain gave it clarity.

Once it regained its freedom, his arm swung forward once more, but Leo’s body had already faded away into nothingness.

Swish!

At the same time, he appeared behind the Abyssal Dragon, his greatsword cleaving off its tail.

Thud!

Using just one wing to spin in place, the Abyssal Dragon’s claw grazed Leo’s cheek as he barely tilted his body to the side.

Despite being gravely injured, the Abyssal Dragon’s speed had actually increased.

Similarly, however, having turned off everything else other than Shadow Armaments, Leo’s reaction speed reached its peak.

Once again, Leo’s body dissipated in shadows as he struck the Abyssal Dragon from a different angle, leaving another ugly wound on its body.

Abandoning his mental speech, the Abyssal Dragon roared like a beast, responding instantly.

Alas, this time, Leo disappeared just as its claws struck, giving rise to its fury.

The moment Leo struck again, however, it turned out to be nothing more than a facade as its claw instantly collided with Leo’s greatsword, producing live sparks!

Although the Abyssal Dragon’s body was tough, 5th refinement Enigma could still melt through as long as there was enough momentum.

Yet, its claws were as tough as crystal. To the current Leo, it was completely indestructible.

Likewise, getting hit by the Abyssal Dragon’s full force with it at its helm obviously meant instant death.

Using Shadow Movement again, Leo appeared on the opposite side. Having switched to countering rather than initiating attacks, the Abyssal Dragon was just as ready for it, but...

Leo disappeared one more time. If he wasn’t fast enough to take the Abyssal Dragon by surprise with each attack, then unpredictability was his most optimal weapon.

Just like that, Leo and the Abyssal Dragon went back and forth as Leo’s greatsword danced alongside his shadow.
