I spoke in a subdued voice.
“You said you’d do it after destroying the Temple, as soon as we got out of prison.”
Of course, we were technically outside the Temple now—but it still didn’t feel like everything was over.
“After it’s all finished, then put it on me. Just like we promised back then.”
I forced myself not to cry as I said it.
“Keep at least that one promise... You didn’t keep a single promise in the last life.”
