Hiruzen sat with a grave expression, carefully listening to Shikaku’s report.

Yamanaka Inoichi, having suffered severe mental trauma, had only just returned, but soon collapsed and fell unconscious.

He was now receiving treatment at the Konoha Hospital.

Fortunately, Shikaku’s condition was relatively stable.

Aside from his extremely pale complexion due to excessive chakra depletion, he suffered no serious injuries.

However, as the captain of this mission, nearly all of his hundred elite shinobi had been wiped out.

Among them were nine members of his own clan—it was easy to imagine the pain he felt.

Also present in the office were Shimura Danzō, Mitokado Homura, Utatane Koharu, Jiraiya, and Orochimaru, who had rushed over upon hearing the news.

Orochimaru, in particular, was deeply intrigued after discovering he couldn’t understand the nature of the Teigu and Shingu.
