With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1554: What did you talk about?

With everything in this law enforcement pavilion settled, it wasn’t as if there was a reason for them to remain here any longer.

They had already rested up and obtained everything that they wanted from this place.

Since time was of the essence, it was best that they moved to the next pavilion as soon as possible.

Su Ling was even able to help them find the next pavilion since she was familiar with this place. However, she wasn’t able to actually guide them along since she wasn’t able to leave the law enforcement pavilion.

In the first place, Su Ling was a soul that was bound to the array of the law enforcement pavilion. So it would have been strange if she had been able to leave this place.

Even if she had made a contract with Lin Fan, that didn’t break her from the array that she was a part of. It only allowed Lin Fan to obtain a bit of authority white he was inside of this place.

Though they did try to bring Su Ling along if they could.

Even if she was only a soul, the information that she had on the former Dao Sect would no doubt help them. At the very least, she could have been an excellent guide since she had lived in this place when it was at its peak.

But it didn’t matter what they tried, they just weren’t able to bring Su Ling away with them.

Even when Lin Fan tried to put Su Ling into the token, it didn’t work at all.

However, it wasn’t as if this was Lin Fan’s idea in the first place.

Since he had already accepted that Su Ling was a part of the array, he knew that it would be impossible for him to bring her along. At the same time, there was a small part of him that hid a secret.

He didn’t want her to come along because of the strange feeling that he got from her.

It was best if she remained here and guarded this place for them.

But to his surprise, Ye Qing Huan and even Xiao Mu did what they could to try and bring

Su Ling along. It really was strange to see how far their relationship had developed in just a few hours.

Though he had no idea what it was that they had bonded over.

When they just couldn’t find a way to bring Su Ling along, it was even stranger how Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu had a private farewell with Su Ling.

Lin Fan had no idea what they were talking about, but he could see that they were looking over from time to time. After they looked over, there seemed to be smiles that appeared on their faces.

Even if he knew that they were talking about him, it wasn’t as if there was anything that he could do about it. So the only thing that he could do was pretend that he didn’t see anything at all.

Once they were done with their goodbyes, Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu came back to bring him away from this pavilion.

Though before leaving, they did make sure to let Su Ling stare at Lin Fan one more time.

"What did you talk about with her?" Lin Fan couldn’t help asking in the end when they left the pavilion, but it didn’t seem like Ye Qing Huan or Xiao Mu were going to answer this question.

The way that they looked at him, Lin Fan couldn’t help feeling even more strange.

After all, they had shook their heads and given sighs as if they couldn’t deal with him anymore.

Lin Fan had no idea what it was about him that made them act this way, but that wasn’t important right now.

With Xiao Mu guiding them, they were able to find their way to the next pavilion.

Only the moment that they approached the next pavilion, they knew that there was something wrong. It wasn’t hard for them to feel the turbid aura that was coming from in front of them.

It was as if there was something that had razed the land itself in this place.

"It’s strange that we haven’t seen any signs of the disaster of the Dao Sect so far. It’s not as if they would have abandoned their sect completely."

Though Lin Fan said this, it wasn’t as if anyone was confused about this matter. They had all seen the same things as him, so they had already been thinking the same thing even without him saying it.

Which was why they all raised their weapons as they continued forward.

Slowly, the mist cleared away from in front of them and they saw the rubble piled in front of them.

As expected, this was the place that the battle had been fought.

Other than the rubble, they could see that there were other marks that represented the attacks that had been used by both sides. Even now, they could feel the aura that came from those marks.

If it wasn’t for the fact that this was the place where the Dao Sect had put up their last stand which filled this place with the aura of death, this place would have been a very good place to cultivate.

Each mark from the attacks of both sides were filled with intent, so they were things that could have been studied to increase their own understanding of techniques.

It was similar to how high level cultivators left behind marks of their attacks to teach the younger generation. But in this case, these marks had been left behind in a life and death struggle.

However, it wasn’t as if that meant that the marks were lacking.

Even though they wanted to observe the marks that had been left behind, they didn’t have the time to actually study them. The more important thing was figuring out what had happened here and what kind of pavilion had once been in this place.

Though there was rubble burying it, they could see the marks of the pavilion that had once been in this place. At the same time, they could see that there was a pavilion that had been marked on the map in this place.

But the most concrete evidence that there was a pavilion in this place was the fact that both Su Ling and Xiao Mu confirmed it. They had information from the Dao Sect, so there was nothing more assuring than that.

Only when they looked at the rubble, they just had no idea what this place had been once upon a time.

The way that the rubble was laid out, it was as if someone had deliberately destroyed all traces of what this place had been in the past. But if they had done that, they had to have a reason for erasing all these traces.

That just made them even more curious about what this place had been previously.

It also made Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan wonder what it was that the Dao Sect had done for this to happen.

After walking around a bit, they were at a loss as to what to do.

They had already explored this place as much as they could, but there weren’t any traces that could be used as clues.

"Let’s take a closer look at the marks." Lin Fan suggested in the end.

It wasn’t as if he was just blindly suggesting this, rather he had an idea that he couldn’t shake out of his mind.

"Why would there be marks left behind if the building itself was demolished like this. There has to be a reason that the marks remained even though the pavilion was completely torn down."

But as they were observing the marks of battle that had been left, it wasn’t as if they could figure out anything special about them. There was no pattern between these marks at all, it was as if the attacks had been released in desperation.

Though that wouldn’t have been strange considering that it was a disaster that had pushed the Dao Sect to the brink. It was a disaster that had caused the Dao Sect to disappear from this cultivation continent.

So it would only make sense that they fought as desperately as they could in this battle.

It really looked like the two of them were giving up on trying to find some kind of pattern in this, but they also didn’t want to give up yet. They had come this far, so it didn’t feel right to give up.

"Is it really that simple?"

When Lin Fan saw something, he even had to double check to make sure that he was seeing the right thing. After all, the thing that he had found seemed so simple that it didn’t seem like it was correct.

But once he saw it, it really was something that was hard to ignore.

In fact, it was almost as if it was jumping out at him with how he was seeing it.

So in the end, Lin Fan had no choice but to voice his discovery.

"Doesn’t it look like a constellation?"

Ye Qing Huan was confused at first when she heard what he said, but then she also saw what he was talking about.

It was the way that the marks were left on the ground, they looked like they were forming some kind of constellation.

But that had to be a coincidence, it didn’t feel like they would go out of their way to leave the marks like this.
