Chapter 215: Cammy’s Plan (2)
"She’s upstairs. She’ll be down in a minute," Ric said, walking closer. Then he noticed the way Cammy was staring at the photo. "You okay?"
Cammy forced a tight-lipped smile and nodded, though her hands were still trembling.
"Yeah... I just... something about this picture..."
The thought won’t leave her mind. She had seen Greg’s pictures when he was young and they surely looked alike.
Ric looked over her shoulder. His brows drew together, but he said nothing.
Cammy turned to him slowly, eyes wide and haunted. "Ric... Do you know if Greg and Felicity knew each other?"
Ric didn’t answer right away. He just looked at the photo again, then back at Cammy. The unspoken truth was now hanging in the air between them like a shadow neither of them could shake off.
Just then, they heard footsteps descending the staircase.
Felicity Cross had arrived.
She reached the bottom step and gave Ric a small nod of acknowledgement before turning to Cammy with a warm but unreadable smile.
"Come, let’s sit," she said, gesturing to the sun-drenched living room. The sunlight streamed in through tall windows, casting long shadows over the elegant furnishings. Cammy followed, each step echoing like a heartbeat against the polished floors.
