Chapter 213: Grayfia**
Back to Alex.
"Is that all you have prepared?" Grayfia asked, her tone calm and composed, but there was something in her voice that made me pause.
I raised an eyebrow, genuinely confused. "What do you mean?"
Grayfia's silver eyes met mine, and for a moment, she hesitated before speaking again. "I thought... you might have prepared a room for us," she said, her usual professionalism faltering just enough for me to catch a glimpse of something else—something more vulnerable.
Her words caught me completely off guard. I blinked, trying to process what she had just said. A room? For us?
I turned to look at her, searching her face for any sign that I had misunderstood. But what I found made my breath catch in my throat. Despite the stoic expression she usually wore, there was a faint blush spreading across her pale cheeks, contrasting starkly with her cool demeanour.
That blush was all I needed to know we were, in fact, on the same page.
For a second, I felt my heart race. Grayfia, the professional maid of the Gremory household, was suggesting what I thought she was suggesting. It wasn't just a date anymore—it was an invitation for something deeper, something more intimate.
A small smile tugged at the corner of my lips. "I see..." I said, my voice lowering slightly as I stepped closer to her, catching the subtle flicker of her emotions beneath that mask of professionalism she always wore. "So, you're saying you'd like me to have prepared more than just a sunset, huh?"
Grayfia's blush deepened, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she held her ground, her gaze steady but revealing a side of her I had rarely seen—a side that wasn't all about duty and responsibility. There was desire in her eyes, restrained, but undeniably there.
"I wouldn't be opposed to it," she admitted softly, her voice barely above a whisper.
