Chapter 31
Four days into the Exchange at the Bednicker main house.
No matter how joyful an occasion might be, the energy was bound to drop a few notches if it continued for four days straight.
The Exchange was no exception.
The hall, which had been filled with people on the first day, had begun to empty.
In truth, this was only natural. Attending the Exchange took work.
For one’s dignity, they couldn’t wear similar clothes on two separate days, and their clothes obviously had to be flawless.
One also needed to be wary of the words they spoke because they couldn’t know how their words would be relayed.
This wasn’t an easy task. Supposedly, many noblewomen didn’t attend the second day because they were too exhausted from the first.
However, although her body was weak, Lucia succeeded in attending all four days of the Exchange.
