Reggie was Yang Yi’s chosen assistant, but Ferguson was Aaron’s eyes and ears. So Yang Yi had to ask if Aaron wanted to replace someone to keep an eye on him.
Aaron thought for a moment and said, "Ferguson has his tasks to attend to; since you’re almost done with your business, let Ferguson come back. As for Reggie, he was your choice, you decide how to handle him."
Yang Yi was indeed a bit surprised; Aaron was quite generous in his actions, seemingly giving him complete freedom and control.
Having Ferguson around was indeed a hindrance, not trustworthy and not someone you could send far away. If Aaron really let him have free rein, that would be extraordinarily convenient.
