"Chief, Deputy Director McLaughin refuses to transfer Yang Yi to the operations division; he hasn’t signed the transfer order."

Hearing the assistant’s report, Aaron responded indifferently, "Refused?"

"Yes, Deputy Director McLaughlin did not provide a reason."

Putting down the pen in his hand, Aaron pondered quietly for a moment, then nodded and said, "I see."

After the assistant finished reporting and left, Aaron did not go back to his work as usual. He thought for a long time, then reached for the telephone handset, placed his hand on the number pad, but after pressing just one digit, he put the handset back.

With a light sigh, Aaron placed his hand on the telephone again, but this time he didn’t even pick it up before moving his hand away.

Just as Aaron was conflicted about whether to make the call, Yang Yi, who had just returned to the changing room, answered a call.

"Hello, Boss, what’s the status on that matter? Do I still need to go to the operations division?"

"Where have you been? Why didn’t you answer the phone? I’ve called you several times. Now you can relax, I went to see Deputy Director McLaughin and explained your importance to him, so now there’s nothing to worry about. You won’t be transferred to the operations division. Deputy Director McLaughlin refused to let you go, and as long as he does not agree, there’s nothing to worry about."
