Chapter 953 - 958 Necessary Procedures
Now, Yang Yi was inside the CIA headquarters building. After leaving Porter’s office with Walter, they passed through two security checks, descended four floors, went through two corridors and a large hall, and arrived at the office area of the security department.
Along the way, Yang Yi had encountered a few people, but no one showed any curiosity towards him. In this busy place, a new face did not attract attention.
It was not until Yang Yi was taken into an office, a front and back suite, that Walter called three people, not to monitor Yang Yi, but to protect him.
If Yang Yi’s investigation subject was Aaron, then he naturally needed protection. Although the possibility of an attack at the CIA headquarters was incredibly slim, the same saying applied—if anyone Yang Yi met after revealing his identity and mission did not take his security seriously, then that person was either neglecting their duties or an accomplice of Aaron.
In the outer room sat two CIA agents, while Walter and an aide sat with Yang Yi.
It wasn’t imprisonment, but Yang Yi couldn’t leave if he wanted to. So this so-called protection was actually a sort of house arrest in disguise.
Walter had no desire to talk, but the agents in the same room were not of the same mind. They knew they were called to protect Yang Yi, only they did not know why.
Yang Yi had been in Walter’s office for over two hours already.
Strict training ensured that every qualified agent would not chatter idly, but when three people sat together in complete silence, the atmosphere became awkward. To break the monotony, one of the agents made a seemingly casual remark, "It’s time for dinner."
