Chapter 886 - 891: The Wrong Attitude
The most dangerous place is often the safest place, but that’s not always true. This time, however, it was true.
Right next to Deyo’s villa, inside the house Yang Yi and his group had rented, Yang Yi walked into the living room, then he turned on the stereo, selected the Carmen Overture to play, and turned the volume up high.
Amidst the sweeping music, Yang Yi slowly made his way to the first-floor bathroom where Steve, his head covered and hands tied behind his back, was bound to a pipe.
Nodding at Kate, Yang Yi entered the bathroom, closed the door behind him, and then reached out to remove Steve’s hood.
Steve’s head twisted back and forth a couple of times, and he slowly opened his eyes. After getting used to the glaring light, he finally fully opened his eyes and saw Yang Yi standing beside him.
"Hi, Steve, we meet again."
Steve just stared at Yang Yi, not knowing what to say.
Yang Yi squatted down, locked eyes with Steve for a moment, and then suddenly said, "Are you disappointed that Nicholas didn’t manage to rescue you? At the same time, are you happy? After all, we didn’t kill you. You’re still in my hands, but you’re still alive."
Steve was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, "No need to say anything, especially not threats and intimidations. Can you untie me, give me some who, let me eat my fill, and change the music, please? I like Bizet, but I don’t want to listen to his music now. I want to hear ’Ode to Joy.’ I’m not particularly fond of Beethoven, but right now, I want to hear ’Ode to Joy,’ the version played by the Dresden National Orchestra."
