Chapter 850 - 855: Heavy Strike
Ian lived in an apartment, just an ordinary one at that, which was surprisingly careless of Kauswell Laboratory considering he was a researcher for a secret research facility.
Exiting the elevator, the area outside was somewhat dirty and untidy, with even some graffiti on the walls. Yang Yi took a look around and said, "You live in this dump? The security around here doesn’t seem particularly good."
Ian appeared unconcerned as he responded, "The laboratory doesn’t provide housing, just a housing subsidy. My salary isn’t very high, so naturally, I can only afford to live in a place like this."
Yang Yi moved his hand closer to his waist and remarked, "There don’t seem to be any cameras or anything."
"There are, but they’ve been vandalized. Drug addicts did that. But it’s much better now. There aren’t as many addicts around these days."
As they spoke, Ian took out his keys and approached an apartment door, unlocking it with the key.
Opening the door and switching on the light, Ian then said to Yang Yi, "Come in, please."
Yang Yi let Eric enter first; then, he followed and immediately closed the door behind them.
The two-bedroom apartment wasn’t too small for London. If the area had better security, Ian wouldn’t have been able to afford such an expensive place.
The room was very clean, everything neatly arranged, and there was no smell at all—which was quite impressive for a bachelor, and even more unexpected given Ian’s casual appearance.
Ian turned on the TV first, which was quite loud, and then he opened the refrigerator and took out three drinks, handing them to the two men. After opening a bottle and taking a couple of sips, he said with a relaxed face, "Please wait a moment; I need to pack some things."
