The Alpha Trio remained as the assault group, hiding inside the vehicle parked near the crossroads. Yang Yi, Zhang Yong, and Rodriguez formed one team, which also included Jethro in their vehicle.
Xiao Ran and Kate teamed up; they didn’t use rocket launchers but provided precise fire support, and Woody was also in their vehicle, facing his first fight immediately upon joining.
Brian and Chris were in one car, both ready to attack with rocket launchers.
There was no time to get out of the car and seek shelter in a building, so everyone had to stay in their vehicles, waiting to ambush Ferdinand as he approached. Thus, the attack had to be swift, and its conclusion equally rapid. If they didn’t kill Ferdinand straightaway, it meant failure, and if Ferdinand’s men managed to pin them down, it was pretty much time to leave Ukraine.
But as the saying goes, "One can guard against the enemy he knows, but the enemy within is insidious." Stabbing in the back is always the easiest.
And Yang Yi and his team were the ones holding the proverbial knife.
Once everything was ready, Jethro took a deep breath, then made the urgent call to Ferdinand.
"Ferdinand! We’ve been attacked, Corkdor is done for, Big Ivan is about to strike at you, get out of there now! Hurry!"
