Amid the talk, it was inevitable that they would choke on their words, and as a bodyguard, Yang Yi naturally had no right to butt in. But since Ferdinand was not allowing Jethro to leave, as Jethro’s bodyguard, Yang Yi had to make a stand.

Yang Yi positioned himself in front of Jethro and gazed at Ferdinand, his hand on the grip of his gun.

Ferdinand looked coldly at Yang Yi and, although he made no gesture, his group of subordinates immediately tightened the circle around them considerably.

After a moment of silence, Jethro said in a deep voice, "I can stay."

Upon hearing Jethro’s words, Yang Yi immediately stepped to the side and then continued to stand by Jethro’s side.

"I can stay, but I don’t have manpower to commit to the fight against Big Ivan," Jethro said. "They are my bodyguards, responsible only for my safety. I can’t direct them to do anything beyond protecting me."

Jethro finally finished speaking and then he waved his hand to Yang Yi and whispered, "It’s okay, no need to be tense."

Ferdinand glanced at Yang Yi and asked coldly, "They are just bodyguards, but since they have heard secrets they shouldn’t have, how do you plan to deal with them in the end?"

Jethro frowned and replied, "They are my bodyguards; wherever I go, they naturally follow. Even if they have heard something, it falls on me. As long as the boss still trusts me, you have no right to meddle with my people. Ferdinand, I know you’re eager to establish your authority and show off your power as the new leader, but you’re making a mistake by targeting me!"

Ferdinand’s eyes narrowed slightly, as if he had something to say. Yang Yi secretly prepared for action, for if Ferdinand decided to turn hostile, whether he intended to kill Jethro or them, a big fight would be inevitable.

If a fight was to happen, they would definitely need to strike first.
