Chapter 589 - 597 Muddy Water
Things have changed.
Jethro casually checked into a hotel. Though he didn’t become completely negligent, once Nicholas was no longer an immediate threat, Jethro found it difficult to maintain his prior level of caution.
In other words, Yang Yi wasn’t as important to Jethro anymore, at least not as a lifeline; therefore, Jethro wouldn’t talk to Yang Yi as freely as before.
Yang Yi was desperate to figure out what was happening inside the Deyo Group, but he couldn’t just ask Jethro, so eavesdropping was his only option.
Yang Yi shared a room with Chris, Xiao Ran shared with Kate, and of course, Brian stayed invariably with Paul.
This time, Yang Yi was staying next to Jethro’s room; thus, he personally placed a bug on the wall and then put on his headphones, ready to listen to whether Jethro and Boyata would discuss anything noteworthy.
For a long time, there was silence, followed by mundane conversations about daily trivial matters. Once Jethro and Boyata had finished their nighttime routine and it was time to sleep, Yang Yi had yet to hear anything of value.
Just when Yang Yi was feeling disappointed, thinking the day would end uneventfully, Jethro suddenly whispered, "Boyata, how was Trident’s performance today?"
The voice was somewhat distorted and very low, but Yang Yi immediately perked up.
