Spy-x-War Showdown

Chapter 509 - 497: There is a Killing Intent

Hank said the difficulties not only existed but were also insurmountable with the methods Yang Yi and his team had at their disposal; the idea of stealthily investigating everything and then striking like thunder was simply impossible.

Since they couldn’t prepare everything and then steal the gold, they had no choice but to go in hard, blow up the walls, blow open the safe, and then snatch the gold and run.

Now the question was, how to blow it up.

Yang Yi pointed at the computer and said, "The walls are one meter thick, reinforced concrete structures. I want to know how to blow up this wall?"

Brian looked troubled, and after pondering for a moment shook his head and said, "I’ve studied explosives, but I’m not an expert. These walls are load-bearing, and with my level of expertise, if I want to blow up this wall, I would have to use a large amount of explosive. But too much explosive could bring the whole building down..."

Paul also shook his head and said softly, "I can’t do it either."

Hank raised his hands and waved them continuously, saying, "Don’t look at me, I definitely don’t do explosives, I can’t deal with that stuff."

Demolition seemed simple, as if just piling up the explosives and setting them off would do the job, but it wasn’t that easy; demolition is a technical task, one that requires a very high level of expertise.

Just like Brian had said, too much explosive and the entire building could collapse; too little and the wall wouldn’t budge. What’s more, Yang Yi and his team didn’t just need to blow a hole through the wall; they needed to create an opening large enough for at least two people to pass through side by side.

Both Brian and Paul had definitely received explosive training, but their training at best meant they knew how to use explosives—to breach a door during combat or to bring down a building without a problem. But to carry out an explosion inside a building—a powerful one at that without making the building collapse and burying themselves—that would require an expert, a real demolition expert, and an exceptional one at that.

Yang Yi looked at Xiao Ran and then at Kate; they were out of the question. Rodriguez and Chris didn’t even bear thinking about, and as for Zhang Yong, Yang Yi had never heard him mention any expertise in demolitions, leaving only one person: Anton.
