Chapter 404 - 392 New Training
Zhang Yong’s thoughts were too erratic; Yang Yi couldn’t keep up.
Just a moment ago, he was despondent, and in the blink of an eye, Zhang Yong started wondering if the legend about urine freezing into a stick was true, and he indeed seemed ready to go out and take a piss to verify it.
Right then, someone knocked on the door.
Brian and Paul pushed the door open and came in, followed closely by Xiao Ran, who entered cradling her rifle in her arms.
As soon as she entered the room, Xiao Ran couldn’t wait to say, "It’s too cold, too cold, my gun is frozen! It can fire, but the semi-automatic has turned into a bolt-action rifle. I have to pull the bolt every time to chamber a round, and the feeding is very unreliable."
Brian calmly said, "Both people and guns need to adapt to extreme cold, but clearly that’s not the priority right now. Since Zhang Yong is here, then you know what happened?"
Yang Yi nodded and said, "I know, we lost miserably."
Zhang Yong stood up sheepishly; he cleared the table and said to Yang Yi, "You better eat quickly; I’m going back to my room to rest."
Brian gestured for Zhang Yong to wait and said, "Don’t rush off."
After a pause, Brian continued indifferently, "We’ve all had cold climate combat training. Pandora exists to counter the Soviets, and to target them, we must adapt to the cold climate. That’s why we trained in Alaska. Only, polar climate conditions are not our main operating environment. We just underwent adaptive training, not targeted training. And after we were deployed to the Middle East, we never had cold climate training again."
Brian paused, then looked at Zhang Yong and slowly said, "Anyway, you are an old soldier. To be defeated in such an inconceivable manner by Pasanin is indeed beyond belief. In all the training and combat I’ve been through, I’ve never heard of such an outrageous thing."
