Chapter 137 - 136: All Kinds of People
Hank didn’t seem to know where the strength came from, but his arms trembled as he propped himself up into a sitting position, then he snatched the instant noodles from Yang Yi.
Yang Yi handed him a fork with his other hand. Hank’s hand holding the noodles continued to shake, and then he took the fork with his right hand and immediately stuck it into the noodles.
The noodles were not fully rehydrated, but Hank, with his trembling hands, shoveled them into his mouth.
After eating a bit, Hank’s hands trembled even more violently, resembling a whirlwind as he finished off the portion of the noodles that had barely soaked, then he picked up the paper bowl and tipped his head back to drink all the broth.
After drinking all the soup, Hank let out a long breath and said in a low voice, "So delicious..."
Hank was truly starved.
In fact, inmates even in solitary confinement get food, though not much; it certainly wouldn’t come to the point of surviving on two small slices of bread a week. Therefore, Hank’s starvation was actually orchestrated by Yang Yi.
A simple heads-up was all it took; those guards would have been only too happy to starve Hank, who had attempted to escape.
A pack of instant noodles and a piece of chocolate were far from enough to satisfy a man starved for a week, so Hank’s hands still shook terribly, but at least he had managed to sit up.
Yang Yi went back and grabbed another pack of instant noodles, not the bowl kind this time, but the bag kind, dangling them in front of Hank with a smile, "Want it?"
