Chapter 21: Viper Laughs
When traders travelled across the Great Steppe, they often encountered tribes of herders who had inhabited those grasslands for thousands of years.
These tribes lived as nomads, constantly moving from place to place across the dry wilderness in search of ample grass and water to feed their sheep, goats, and horses.
The steppe's earliest inhabitants may have arrived more than one hundred thousand years ago. They were primarily hunters and gatherers who lived off the land and followed herds of animals that provided their source of food.
Over time, these early peoples learned to tame some animals, like cattle and horses, and raised them for meat and dairy products as well as to work and provide a means of transportation.
Over time, harsh conditions and isolation helped convince these nomads to form small groups, or tribes, that could team up to hunt and protect themselves against rivals.
While these tribes shared many characteristics, they still spoke different languages and viewed each other more as threats than as people with a shared lifestyle.
And it is because of this, they keep fighting for land and bounty.
Aeryon thought of this before he enters the battle. The Great Steppe must be united. From the moment, he got the system he thought of this
His vision is higher than ordinary people. And because he knows it could be done, that he has such ambition.
Aeryon believe that even if he does not have such system, such ambition would always grow naturally in his heart
But right now, as he charges through hundreds of men, he did not have such thought. His body is swivelling and dodging and running, evading all attacks.
