"Where is my senior brother?" Dugu Qianye, seeing only a Hidden Guard and no sign of Hao Pengyou, asked.
"Hao Pengyou has gone to the residence of Qiao Huang, the Ghost King," the Hidden Guard said.
Having received instructions from Mang Qianjun, the Hidden Guard was originally just covertly protecting Hao Pengyou. After arriving in Qiao Huang’s territory, he started to inquire about Nangong Feifei’s whereabouts. Learning that she was indeed at Qiao Huang’s residence, he secretly snuck in to find her but was ultimately driven out by her. Later, when he learned that Nangong Feifei was not happy there, he planned to take her away. With Qiao Huang’s formidable power, he stood no chance on his own, so the Hidden Guard had no choice but to reveal himself to try and dissuade him. But Hao Pengyou was determined, and they could not just watch him take the risk, so they followed him. When they were about to leave, they received a message from Dugu Qianye and left one person behind to meet her.
Understanding the situation, Dugu Qianye said, "This senior brother of mine! Qiao Huang is so powerful, and yet he’s being so reckless—really... Let’s go after them now!"
Having said that, Dugu Qianye flew towards Qiao Huang’s residence with the Hidden Guard, her heart filled with worry all along the way, fearing that they might arrive too late and that Hao Pengyou might already be dead.
"Don’t worry," Zi Xiao said, holding her hand for comfort.
"Hmm," Dugu Qianye took a deep breath and added, "Even if he’s dead, I’ll make him come back to life for me!"
Soon, a city shrouded in black smoke appeared before them. The Hidden Guard pointed to the city and said, "That’s Huangcheng. Qiao Huang’s lair."
