The others in the room held their breath as they watched the two, for fear that even their own breathing would startle them.
The Flame Army was surprised to find that Dugu Qianye possessed Chaotic Power. Most of their attention had been focused on Yong Xing’s actions, and they didn’t know much about Dugu Qianye.
Everyone looked at Little Douzi’s pained expression with a touch of heartache. Though Little Douzi never seemed to grow up, everyone in the Nine Heavens liked him, feeling pity for him. Seeing him suffer in silence every day, everyone hoped his illness would be cured soon.
As Dugu Qianye’s Divine Sense followed the flame through Little Douzi’s body, she found nothing unusual until she reached his heart and suddenly discovered a thin layer of ice. She checked his other organs and was startled to find the same layer of ice on each of them. She increased the temperature of the flame slightly and saw that Little Douzi’s whole body appeared to be frozen by this ice layer!
"There must be a source!" Dugu Qianye thought as she watched the ice exposed by the flame. She continued to probe Little Douzi’s body and found a small Bing Jing at his Phantom Power Source that opened and closed as if it were sleeping.
Dugu Qianye wanted to get a closer look, but remembering that the flame could not control its own temperature and the Phantom Power Source was a fragile part of the body, she slowly withdrew.
After withdrawing the flame from Little Douzi’s body, Dugu Qianye opened her eyes, took a long breath, and asked the sweat-drenched Little Douzi, "How are you feeling?"
Looking at the tired Dugu Qianye, Little Douzi replied, "I’m okay."
At first, his body did indeed feel as if it were being scorched by fire, unbearably hot. But then, it was as if his body had automatically cooled down, and he no longer felt so uncomfortable.
