The South River was the deepest and widest river on the Fengwu Continent. Its depth was nearly the same as that of the South Sea, its width spanned thousands of kilometers, and it stretched nearly across the whole Fengwu Continent. There were many Spiritual Beasts within, but all had their own territories. They lived and rested within their domains, and the river was relatively peaceful.
Dugu Qianye swam toward the opposite bank, trying not to disturb the Spiritual Beasts in the water, hoping to reach the other side smoothly. But, when she had traveled more than halfway, she encountered a water snake swimming straight towards her. In a moment of urgency, she quickly darted into the Refining Demon Pot.
The water snake had been visiting a neighbor’s dwelling of a different Spiritual Beast and, on its return, it seemed to have spotted a human figure, but when it looked again, there was nothing there.
"Could it be that my eyes are deceiving me?" The water snake blinked its eyes and, shaking its body, it swam away.
