Miss Loser is too enchanting

Everyone present was startled by Feng Sanmei’s words. Wasn’t she very particular about propriety and such? Usually she set such strict family rules, and yet, now she disregarded the order of seniority, offering Dugu Qianye a seat below her. Was this useless person really so favored by her?

Seeing everyone’s expressions, Dugu Qianye said, "Great grandmother, we’ll just sit here." And with that, she and Zi Xiao took seats on the outermost chairs, while Dugu Qianlin climbed onto her lap.

When everyone heard her address Feng Sanmei as great grandmother, they were taken aback again. Feng Sanmei had always had people call her great-great-grandmother, never allowing such intimate address as ’great grandmother’ from others. Everyone felt a sudden sense of imbalance in their hearts.

Dugu Qianlin followed suit and called out, "Great grandmother, have you missed Little Qianlin? Little Qianlin has missed you a lot."

Hearing Dugu Qianlin’s words, Feng Sanmei smiled happily and said, "Great grandmother has missed you too, but it seems you prefer your Sister Qianye and don’t come to see great grandmother."

Dugu Qianlin was conflicted for a moment, but in the end, he said, "Great grandmother, I’ll sit with Sister Qianye."

Feng Sanmei did not take offense at this and, after sipping some tea, said, "Now that you have all returned, let’s have a small reunion. Qianye has been back for a while, and I believe some of you have heard about it. Now, get to know each other. Qianye, these are your grandparents." Feng Sanmei pointed to the people seated below her.

Dugu Qianye looked over and saw that her grandfather, Dugu Chenyuan, looked a lot like Dugu Yunheng, especially the domineering light that shone from his eyes. Her grandmother, Xie Bing, seemed somewhat cold, but was fairly polite to her, offering her a small smile. Rising, Dugu Qianye bowed to both of them and called, "Grandfather, grandmother."
