Chapter 1607 - 2030: Jealous
Fan Rou was left speechless by Ye Ranran.
"Think it over yourself, I’m going to the restroom." Ye Ranran put down her juice.
She disliked drinking water because she always had to run to the bathroom.
After washing her hands, Ye Ranran took out her phone from her purse and called Lan Shao.
Receiving Ye Ranran’s call so late at night, Lan Shao couldn’t hide his surprise: "Madam?"
"Hmm, Rourou is drunk at the bar, you should come and pick her up." Ye Ranran gave Lan Shao the address.
"I’ll be right there." Lan Shao said hurriedly.
He must have been asleep; before he finished speaking, Ye Ranran heard the sound of blankets being thrown aside.
Ye Ranran checked the time; it wasn’t even eleven o’clock. He went to bed so early; he really had no nightlife.
Fan Rou seemed truly drunk, slumped over the bar, not moving at all. Ye Ranran stood next to her, watching for a while.
"Rourou?" She tried calling out, but there was no response.
"Seems like she’s really drunk." She muttered, glancing over at Jun Mochan’s side.
He and Zhou Xian were engrossed in playing cards, paying no attention to this side.
Finding herself idle, Ye Ranran took out her phone and started playing mobile games.
She didn’t like putting mental effort into these things, so she chose simple games.
Lan Shao arrived in half an hour; Ye Ranran led him in and pointed to the bar, saying, "She’s over there."
"Did something happen?" Lan Shao asked cautiously.
Ye Ranran’s eyes were bright, like a shimmering lake under the night sky: "Don’t you know why?"
"Because of me?" Lan Shao boldly guessed.
Ye Ranran nodded: "Turns out you’re not completely clueless. Since you’re here, let’s chat."
Ye Ranran wasn’t sure about the specifics, so she took him over to Jun Mochan.
"Ranran, where did you bring this guy from? Aren’t you afraid the young master will get jealous?" Zhou Xian teased as Ye Ranran approached the sofa.
"Why don’t you ask your young master, see if he’s jealous?" Ye Ranran sat between the two.
Zhou Xian moved aside a bit to separate them slightly, while eyeing Lan Shao: "Who is he? What does he do?"
Zhou Xian didn’t know Lan Shao, but Lan Shao knew Zhou Xian, this young aristocrat whose authority was limited to Jun Mochan, often appearing on TV on Jun Mochan’s behalf.
"Secretary-General Zhou, hello, I’m Lan Shao." Lan Shao quickly introduced himself.
"Since Ranran brought you, you’re half one of us, have a seat." Zhou Xian didn’t make things difficult for him.
"Seems we can’t play anymore, let’s leave it at that." Chu Ji put down his cards.
Zhou Xian glanced at his remaining cards and smirked: "If we continue, you’re sure to lose, afraid already?"
"It’s not my first time losing; can’t I afford to lose?" Chu Ji argued confidently.
Jun Mochan put down his cards, encircling Ye Ranran’s waist with his hands: "Did you bring him over for something?"
"I want you to tell him the consequences of being with Rourou." Ye Ranran rubbed her eyes.
The games had blurred her vision.
"The most straightforward consequence is pressure from the Fan Family, unemployment, joblessness, hitting rock bottom, and eventually losing your life." Jun Mochan glanced at Lan Shao with a half-smile.
His gaze remained gentle, but Lan Shao couldn’t find a trace of coldness.
"I’m asking you to explain the current situation of the Fan Family." Ye Ranran frowned.
