Chapter 1597: Chapter 2020: Grudge
From the beginning to the end, Wen Cai was in unrequited love, while Ye Ranran’s feelings were reciprocated.
Ye Ranran bent down, feeling as if something was slipping away from her body, and leaving always came with inevitable pain.
“What’s wrong?” Jun Mochan looked at her anxiously.
Ye Ranran shook her head; she didn’t know what was wrong. She just felt pain, all over her body, as if someone was slicing her skin with a knife.
When she came to, the first thing she saw was a white ceiling, the smell of disinfectant lingering around her nose.
And the sound of papers flipping echoed by her ear.
“Awake?” A gentle voice spoke as Jun Mochan’s face enlarged before her.
Ye Ranran sat up from the bed, “Where is this? Why am I here?”
“Yi Ju, you fainted, I brought you here. How are you feeling now?” Jun Mochan placed the papers aside and scooted closer to ask.
“I’m fine, not a thing wrong with me,” Ye Ranran moved slightly, her face full of ease, like she had shrugged off a heavy burden.
From this day forward, she could truly let go of Fu Rong. She was only Ye Ranran now, who loved only Jun Mochan.
“Does your head still hurt?” Shen Yuzhe walked in with a syringe in hand.
Seeing the large needle, Ye Ranran shrank back and shook her head hurriedly, “No, it doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m fine now, not a thing wrong with me.”
“Hmm.” Shen Yuzhe walked to the laboratory table, took a small bottle of reagent from a box below, and inserted the needle into the reagent, pulling the syringe up until the bottle was empty.
Then he walked towards Ye Ranran.
“Let me ask you something.” Ye Ranran swallowed, putting on a serious expression, her eyes gleaming sharply.
Shen Yuzhe didn’t stop walking, “Hmm, ask away, I’ll tell you everything I know without holding back.”
“Did we ever have a past grudge?”
Shen Yuzhe didn’t answer immediately, as if deep in thought. It took him a while before he replied in a similarly serious tone, “No.”
“Then why are you trying to murder me? Be careful, even as a ghost, I won’t let you go.” Ye Ranran stared intently at the needle in his hand.
It was all a silly joke from remembering old times, so why was he torturing her like this?
If there was no past hatred, then revenge was out of the question, right?
“This will effectively relieve your heartache, reduce the strain on your heart, so don’t get too excited from now on.” Shen Yuzhe moved closer to her, step by step.
Jun Mochan sat by the bedside, holding Ye Ranran’s hand with one hand and her waist with the other, “It’s okay, just this once, it won’t hurt, don’t worry.”
“If I say I’m afraid of injections, will you laugh at me?” Ye Ranran bit her lip as she spoke.
With such a large needle, claiming it won’t hurt was surely a lie, whimper, they were all liars.
“I’ll tell the baby, so if you don’t want him to laugh at you, don’t do that.” Jun Mochan held Ye Ranran tight as he spoke.
Ye Ranran pursed her lips, her face full of defiance, like someone being bullied alive.
“Don’t be afraid, it’s okay.” Shen Yuzhe had already grasped Ye Ranran’s hand.
He slightly turned her arm, located her vein, aimed the needle, and injected it.
Ye Ranran gasped in pain, her eyes glaring daggers at Shen Yuzhe.
All that talk of it not hurting was a lie.
“All done.” Shen Yuzhe pressed a cotton swab where the needle had gone in.
A small bruise had formed, purple and swollen, as if someone had hit it.
Ye Ranran’s skin had this flaw; it reddened easily, even a small bump would break the skin.
