Chapter 1594 - 2017: Charming
The servants finished their meal and went for a walk outside, conveniently helping to pick up the planes. They placed them together and carried them up all at once for the last time.
Jun Mochan watched from the window as one paper airplane after another flew down, a noticeable curve formed at the corner of his lips, and his eyes were filled with tenderness.
He thought, these were precisely what he pursued and needed to protect.
After dark, Ye Ranran was still with Jun Xiaobao arranging flowers.
She sat behind a small coffee table filled with flowers and had a vase.
Ye Ranran handled trimming the flowers while Jun Xiaobao was responsible for placing them into the vase.
Jun Xiaobao had no aesthetic sense yet and couldn’t distinguish what was beautiful or not, ultimately ending up with a bizarre arrangement.
"Mommy, do you think my arrangement looks good?" Jun Xiaobao eagerly sought praise and kisses.
The child was young, and being honest might hurt his self-esteem.
With this thought, Ye Ranran told a kind lie: "Not bad."
She took out her phone to take a picture of the flowers arranged by Jun Xiaobao.
"I’ll rearrange them differently, can you tell me your thoughts then?"
"Okay." Jun Xiaobao clapped his hands.
Ye Ranran took all the flowers out of the vase and put them beside her, and a few droplets splashed onto the petals, making the flowers appear vibrant and dewy.
Ye Ranran moved the vase closer, straightened up her waist, a gentle smile on her face, and her eyes were very focused.
The warm yellow light cast on her face, giving off a soft hue.
Meanwhile, Jun Xiaobao lay on the coffee table, staring without blinking.
Not a word was exchanged between the mother and child, yet a warm atmosphere exuded naturally.
This was the scene Jun Mochan witnessed when he came downstairs; he took out his phone and snapped a picture.
"Daddy, you’re sneaking pictures of us." Jun Xiaobao turned his head and said in a squeaky voice.
Jun Mochan faced no embarrassment or panic from being caught; he put his phone back in his pocket and walked down elegantly and calmly: "Baby, today Daddy will teach you a term called ’being aboveboard.’"
"What’s that mean?" Jun Xiaobao, not understanding, obediently jumped down.
"It means being honest and open," Jun Mochan explained.
Xiao Bao seemed to grasp some meaning; Jun Mochan wasn’t expecting him to understand immediately: "You’ll understand as you grow older."
"Why bother talking about things he doesn’t understand? Aren’t you afraid of pushing him too hard?" Ye Ranran placed a rose amongst the baby’s breath.
Jun Mochan looked at the baby’s breath around the vase and commented, seemingly unrelated: "The baby’s breath looks quite nice."
Ye Ranran’s hand shook slightly, almost getting pricked by the rose’s thorn.
"The previous flowers were bought for me, right?" she asked casually.
She was referencing when Jun Mochan specifically bought a bouquet of baby’s breath for her at a flower shop while strolling in F country.
"Unless I bought it for myself?" He, a grown man, what would the meaning be of sending flowers to himself?
Reserved, Ye Ranran silently muttered inside, yet her smile became increasingly evident.
No woman dislikes flowers, just as few women don’t appreciate receiving them.
"Madam seems in high spirits today." Jun Mochan leaned on the armrest of the sofa, his legs crossed, neat and graceful.
Ye Ranran admitted, whenever she saw Jun Mochan she thought of one word: alluring.
Even if this man fell from grace one day, he wouldn’t starve selling charms.
"What is Madam thinking?" Jun Mochan lowered his head.
Ye Ranran came back to her senses, realizing Jun Mochan had unknowingly gotten closer, the distance between the two now only a centimeter, close enough to count eyelashes.
