Chapter 1566: Chapter 1889: Calculations
This special treatment, unnoticed when he was young, would become a burden as he grew older.
He didn’t want to live in his shadow; he had his own brilliance, albeit still faint, but he didn’t want to overshadow him.
“Don’t be sad, baby, mommy will go with you.” Ye Ranran patted his head and smiled lightly, dimples appearing shallowly, radiant in the sunlight.
“Okay.” Jun Xiaobao nodded.
“Don’t blame dad, you’ll understand when you grow older.” Ye Ranran understood Jun Mochan; it wasn’t that he didn’t want to go, he just couldn’t.
He must be feeling bad about it too.
Jun Xiaobao nodded again; although he still had no smile on his face, he felt much less depressed.
As usual, Ye Ranran sent the child to the door, and before getting in the car, looked around to make sure no one was paying attention, then opened the car door and got in.
“Mrs. Jun, are you acting like a thief?” Jun Mochan teased her.
“It’s you who can’t be seen.” Ye Ranran retorted.
Jun Mochan shook his head helplessly and drove away.
When getting out of the car, Ye Ranran said, “I’ll use this car to pick up the baby tonight.”
The car Jun Mochan drove in the morning was different from the one he drove back in the afternoon. He only drove the car with the special license plate when the baby wasn’t around.
Jun Mochan was really exhausted protecting Jun Xiaobao.
“Alright.”
The urban development route had been decided, and now it was time to determine where the subway would pass through and where the stations should be set up.
And who should be awarded the project.
The previous matters were handled by Jun Mochan, and the latter by Ye Ranran.
Considering she was quite bored, Jun Mochan handed this matter to her.
Ye Ranran’s approach to such matters was always the simplest: let whoever does it best get the contract.
Doing well not only meant being fast but also without disturbing the residents, and definitely not a jerry-built project, all of which required careful consideration.
So Ye Ranran released the information online and gave instructions to bring proposals if anyone came to inquire.
After handling these tasks, it was the day of Jun Xiaobao’s parent-teacher meeting.
The meeting was in the afternoon, and Ye Ranran came over after lunch.
Jun Xiaobao didn’t expect Ye Ranran to arrive so soon and happily jumped into her arms, “Mommy.”
Having mom was great, not only was she good to him, but she also spoiled him and came to the parent-teacher meeting.
“Mommy, come on, I’ll take you to our classroom.” Jun Xiaobao held Ye Ranran’s hand and headed to the classroom.
His classroom was on the first floor, just through the playground and past the flower beds.
“Baby, slow down, no rush.” Ye Ranran was afraid he’d fall, intentionally slowing down.
Jun Xiaobao turned back, “Mommy, you don’t know, they don’t believe I have parents.”
Jun Mochan hadn’t been there, and she hadn’t returned; whenever there was a parent-teacher meeting, it was always Jun Mochan’s secretary or assistant who came, so everyone knew his father was a busy person.
They would tease him by saying he had no parents.
Ye Ranran’s chest tightened, her smile vanished, and her brows sharp as a knife: “Who is spouting nonsense?”
“Lots of people, but I’m a grown-up and won’t fuss with them.” Dad said, don’t blame the ignorant, like if a dog bites him, he can’t bite back, right?
“Good, as long as baby doesn’t mind. Just automatically filter out those words in the future.” Ye Ranran felt very comforted by how obedient Jun Xiaobao was, although the comfort came with some sadness.
