Chapter 1563: Chapter 1885: Education
Ye Ranran’s heart raced at those words; she withdrew her gaze and looked out the window.
Jun Mochan ignored her embarrassment and continued driving.
Ye Ranran opened the window. The night breeze blew in, dispersing the cold in the car. The heat on her face subsided a bit.
The phone rang at this moment, displaying the home landline.
At this time, if it’s from the home landline, it’s definitely Jun Xiaobao.
“Baby, why aren’t you asleep yet?” Ye Ranran answered the call.
“Mommy, why haven’t you come back? Daddy is missing too. Did you both go on a date? Forgotten about your dear baby, huh?” The childish voice was filled with anger.
Guilt appeared between Ye Ranran’s brows. She had planned to return in two hours but was unexpectedly delayed.
“Baby, I’m sorry, Mommy got held up by some things.”
“I know, Daddy used to use this excuse all the time to brush me off. All the adults’ matters are important, only playing with me is a trivial thing.” The voice on the other end became more and more downcast.
“No, spending time with the baby is important. Mommy was wrong, can baby forgive Mommy just this once?” Ye Ranran pleaded.
“That depends on how Mommy expresses her apology.” The other end pretended to be in difficulty.
Before Ye Ranran could speak, Jun Mochan took the phone away.
“Jun Baby.” His tone was cold and naturally authoritative.
The little one on the other side immediately wilted: “Daddy, I’m here.”
“You’re grown up now and should be independent. Why do you always need Mommy and Daddy by your side? You just call yourself baby, but surely you don’t really think you’re just an infant, do you?” His clear voice spoke forcefully.
Ye Ranran wanted to snatch back her phone but feared disturbing his driving, which would spell disaster for both, so she could only kill him with her eyes.
Jun Mochan remained unperturbed by her murderous gaze, continuing to speak to the person on the other end: “Mommy and Daddy love you, but we will eventually grow old and can’t always be with you. Your life is your own, do you understand?”
“Understood, Daddy.” He just wanted to act cute.
“Boys shouldn’t always act like girls. You’re a man, you need to stand firm.”
“I understand, Daddy.” This time it’s Jun Xiaobao who felt embarrassed.
“Alright, it’s late. Finish your homework and get some rest. I will check tomorrow.”
After hanging up the phone, Jun Mochan tossed the cellphone back to Ye Ranran.
“Why are you like this? Clearly, it’s us who’re late getting back.”
“Did we ever say we’d be with him every night?” Jun Mochan retorted.
Ye Ranran bit her lip, pondering before rebutting: “But you can’t put it that way.”
It would make the child sad.
“We can take out some time each week to be with him, but Ranran, we can’t be with him every single night.” When there are few matters it’s easy to say, but when there are many, it’s really impossible.
“It doesn’t mean I don’t love him. When he has no classes, I always bring him along. Every winter and summer, I take time to play with him and check his homework daily.” He can’t accompany him every day, but like all parents in the world, he loves his child.
Being a bit stricter on him is just wanting him to be a bit more outstanding.
“You don’t need to feel guilty. He will understand.”
His comfort was blatantly ignored by Ye Ranran. Her view differed from his; perhaps mothers are more nurturing.
