Chapter 404 - 400: Who Can Compare to Asher Land’s Excellence? (Part 2)
"Sorry to keep you waiting." She flashed him a harmless smile and was about to move closer to him, but he stopped her.
"What’s wrong?" she asked, frowning.
"I smell like grease and smoke." His face showed a hint of awkwardness.
"Pfft!" Sophie couldn’t help but laugh, she thought it was something more serious.
"It’s just the smell of oil and smoke, I don’t mind." With that, she deliberately moved closer to him.
Asher Land curled up the corners of his lips, not saying much, just opened the window, his car was still filled with the strong smell of spicy squid.
The car stayed parked by the roadside for quite a while, and only after the smell had mostly dissipated did he roll up the window.
"By the way, don’t ask me to buy squid again next time." He didn’t want to endure that disgusting smell a second time.
"Okay, I got it, but I had no other choice, people asked me, if I didn’t agree, wouldn’t it seem too stingy? They didn’t really like me anyway..."
"How did you know I would agree?" He chuckled softly, "I can refuse you."
"You won’t." She said with determination.
"What do you mean I won’t?" He was a bit curious.
"I know the current Asher Land cares for me, spoils me, so whatever I ask him to do, he will agree." She lifted her delicate little face, looked at him, and said each word very definitively.
His grip on the steering wheel suddenly tightened a bit, and his eyes were filled with undisguisable delight.
"Yes, I will care for you, spoil you, whatever you ask me to do, I will agree."
The two of them exchanged a knowing smile, Sophie felt that this was truly one of the rare warm moments in her life.
Who in the world could compare to Asher Land?
...
The car quickly drove back to the Land Family villa.
The first thing Asher Land did was take a shower.
He might really be allergic to that smell, even after Sophie finished her shower a long time ago, he still hadn’t come out.
The sound of water was loud in the bathroom, Sophie frowned slightly, and without giving it much thought, she directly opened the bathroom door.
Asher Land’s movements paused for a moment.
"Don’t you know to knock before entering?" He raised his attractive eyebrows, looking at her meaningfully.
"What part of you haven’t I seen yet?" She imitated the tone he usually used with her, saying it very seriously.
The smile on Asher Land’s lips deepened.
"Alright, look as much as you want." He acted very generously.
"Have you finished yet? It’s been almost an hour."
"No." He just felt that the smell wouldn’t disperse from his body.
Sophie turned off the shower, moved closer to him, stood on tiptoe, and gently sniffed around his neck and chest with her nose.
"How come I don’t smell anything." She looked up, saying seriously.
Unreasonably, his body tensed up again.
"Really, there’s no smell." Sophie saw his stiff expression and added.
"Alright, fine, if you don’t believe me, take your time."
Finishing that, she was about to turn around and leave.
"Don’t go." He pulled her body back against his sturdy chest.
"What’s wrong now?" Sophie looked at him in confusion, "If you feel it’s not clean, just keep washing."
"No matter how I wash, I can’t get clean, why don’t you help me?"
