Chapter 383 - 379: Can Only Choose One (3)
With a crisp sound, the knife in Christopher Smith’s hand fell to the ground, the tip still stained with dazzling blood.
Christopher hadn’t expected that Asher Land wouldn’t dodge at all and just took the stab from him like that.
His steps were somewhat unsteady, his tall figure trembling, his face pale. He half-curved his lips, his gaze falling on the woman a few steps away who was in shock.
She rushed towards him, struggling to support his heavy body.
"Robert! Robert!" She shouted like a madwoman, her voice somewhat shrill.
Robert Williams pushed the door open, and upon seeing the scene before him, he was dumbfounded.
How did this happen?
"Robert, hurry and call the doctor! Quickly!"
Robert replied hastily twice and then ran out with his phone.
"Why so nervous? I’m not going to die." He weakly offered a faint smile.
"Asher Land, you fool." Her voice trembled violently, tears streaming down. He lowered his head to look at her face, and what he saw there was tension, worry, fear.
All those emotions were for him.
The smile at the corner of his lips deepened. This stab was worth it.
The CEO’s office was surrounded, and the medical team swiftly arrived. Asher Land was sent to the best hospital for treatment.
Sophie Smith wanted to follow, but Christopher Smith stopped her.
"Little Sophie..." Christopher’s eyes flickered, "I didn’t know he wouldn’t dodge."
"Ha, Dad, are you satisfied now?" She let out a cold laugh, "Yes, if you were to threaten me with your life, I would leave him. But do you know? I would also hate you for a lifetime."
"I love him, very much, with all my heart. In this lifetime, I won’t love another man. Why do you have to force me? Why?"
"Little Sophie, I’m sorry, Dad was wrong." Christopher also felt some regret. Asher Land was really willing to die for his daughter? Perhaps, the initial intention in his heart should change. That stab, he had held back, just to test Asher Land. So, he didn’t stab directly at his chest but deviated a bit...
Sophie Smith’s thoughts were no longer there. She quickly ran out and boarded the ambulance.
...
She sat dazed in front of the hospital bed, looking at the man with his eyes tightly closed, her brows unconsciously knitted together.
The doctor said that after treatment and bandaging, the wound was no longer serious, but due to excessive blood loss, he might wake up in a day.
But now it’s been a whole day and night, why hasn’t he opened his eyes yet?
"Asher Land,..." she murmured, repeatedly calling his name, as if saying it more times would wake him up.
"Why are you so foolish? Ha, I thought you were smarter, turns out you’re a complete fool!"
"Don’t you know how to dodge? Okay, since you’re so generous, next time we argue, you’re not allowed to talk back, not allowed to hit back, you can only let me scold and hit you..."
"Why are you still not waking up? The doctor said you could wake up after a day, are you deliberately opposing me?..."
"If you don’t wake up soon, I’ll..."
"You’re so noisy." Asher Land impatiently interrupted her.
Sophie Smith seemed startled, standing up abruptly.
"I, I’ll go call the doctor..." She stepped forward and started walking out.
"Come back!"
