Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement

Chapter 368 - 364: I Can’t Handle Big Sponsors Like You (Part 2)

Oliver Johnson couldn’t help but laugh when he heard Eva Miller use the word ’you’ in a formal way.

She had picked it up quite quickly and was even using an honorific for him.

Oliver did not take her advice to rest; he just stood by, watching her bustling about the kitchen. It was too large, and sometimes she had to take a long route to get something. So, he would ask if she needed anything and handed it to her right away.

"What’s with Mr. Johnson today?" The old housekeeper and the maid exchanged a surprised glance, "He never comes home for lunch. Today he’s acting unusual, even bringing a woman home to cook lunch for him?"

"Maybe she’s the woman he’s interested in recently."

"Impossible. Mr. Johnson has never brought a woman home. All these years, he’s kept himself clean, never even a hint of scandal with any woman. Who is this girl who suddenly appeared?"

Looking at Eva Miller, with her big bright eyes, a playful smile often at the corners of her mouth, her hair in a ponytail, and a face with some baby fat that made her look quite young, she didn’t really seem to match Oliver Johnson, a mature, steady, and successful businessman.

"It’s Mr. Johnson’s business. We have no right to inquire as his servants. Let’s get back to work." The old housekeeper said two lines before dismissing everyone.

Eva’s specialty was Chopped Chili Fish Head, but knowing Oliver preferred lighter dishes, she unhesitatingly gave up her signature dish and replaced it with steamed fish.

Oliver watched her serious expression while handling the fish, momentarily dazed.

In front of him, she was very genuine, never pretentious, and he had to admit that her sometimes confused, sometimes serious manner was somewhat charming.

When the final dishes were laid out on the table, none of the heavy-flavored dishes made an appearance. The meals were uniformly light and simple in color and taste.

Very homely dishes - steamed fish, stir-fried shrimp, and a dish of leafy greens...

Eva felt a bit embarrassed, thinking that making such simple dishes for Oliver was quite shabby.

"Come and sit."

Seeing her standing there motionless, he pulled out a chair beside him for her to sit.

The servant served the rice and placed it in front of her.

She didn’t move her chopsticks but continued to watch Oliver’s every move discreetly.

He picked up a piece of fish and put it in his mouth. The fish was tender and smooth, with a fresh flavor, showing that her culinary skills were quite good.

"It’s not bad." Hearing his approval, Eva let out a sigh of relief and started to eat.

What made her happy was that Oliver was actually enjoying the food she made, and he was eating it with great satisfaction.

However, she felt a little reserved in front of him.

"Miss Miller..." He hesitated, suddenly feeling an urgent desire to learn about another woman from her, but if he did so, would it be unfair to her?

"Brother Johnson, you, don’t be so formal with me. You can call me Eva, if, if you don’t mind."

She didn’t like being called Miss Miller. It felt distant, polite, and lacking any closeness.

He didn’t seem inclined to change how he addressed her. He thought, if she ever found out he had threatened her best friend about this matter, would she still let him call her name so endearingly?
