Chapter 337 - 333: The Conspiracy of Birth (3)
Over there, there was no response for a long time.
"Mr. Johnson, where did you move my father?" She anxiously asked again.
"My home."
"What do you mean?" Sophie Smith was somewhat stunned. What did he mean by moving him to his house?
"Rest assured, I have hired the best medical team, I will take good care of Uncle Smith." Oliver Johnson’s words remained calm and composed.
"No, that’s not it, Mr. Johnson, I don’t want to trouble you too much, I want to take care of my dad myself. Where is your house? I will come to find you right away..."
"Miss Smith." Oliver Johnson interrupted her, "You can’t see your father now."
"Why?" She couldn’t help but feel amused.
She wanted to ask something more, but the other side had already hung up.
"Hello, Mr. Johnson, ..." Sophie dialed the number again, but the phone was already off.
She stood there at a loss. What was going on? Why did Oliver Johnson move her father away? And why wouldn’t he let her visit?
Her whole being was on edge, unable to relax.
...
She returned to the Land Family villa listlessly. Asher Land was sitting on the living room sofa, absorbed in his computer.
His long fingers tapped casually on the keyboard. Seeing her come in, he was somewhat surprised. Wasn’t it agreed to go to the hospital, how come she returned?
He closed the computer and walked towards her.
"What’s wrong? You look like someone owes you millions?" he joked, seeing her come back so early, actually, he was very happy inside, yet he pretended to be reserved.
"I’m fine." She walked past him, sat on the sofa, absentmindedly picked up a cup from the coffee table, and took a few sips.
That was Asher Land’s teacup.
She immediately came to her senses, put the teacup back, and looked at him somewhat embarrassed.
Asher Land, however, didn’t mind, he sat down beside her, placed the computer back on his lap.
Sophie Smith was trying to call Oliver Johnson, send texts, but he never responded to her, her mood was very gloomy and desperate.
Inexplicably, she felt Oliver Johnson was hiding something from her.
...
Around ten in the evening, Sophie had just finished bathing when she saw her phone screen light up.
It was Oliver Johnson.
"Hello, Mr. Johnson!" Sophie’s voice was somewhat excited, "I want to see my dad."
"Miss Smith, rest assured, your dad is doing well now."
"But what do you mean by not letting me see him?" She was somewhat angry, "You can’t do this!"
"Where are you now?" he didn’t answer her question, just asked trivial topics.
"At home."
"Asher Land’s home?"
"Mm."
Indeed, she still trusted him very much, when she spoke to him she was always candid.
Thinking of this, he actually felt a lot of guilt, meeting her was an accident, using her was really not what he intended to do.
"Is he by your side now?"
"No, he went to his study, he still has some work to finish." Sophie was also a bit impatient, "Mr. Johnson, could you please answer my question, why won’t you let me see my dad?"
"I want to make a video call with you, you can also see Uncle Smith."
Sophie hadn’t had time to answer him, he had already hung up the call, and soon after, her phone received a video call notification.
