Noble Pampering: Demon CEO's Relentless Entanglement

Chapter 272 - 268: He Really Treats You Well (Three)

He drove from the First Ring Road to the Second Ring Road, and from the Second Ring Road to the Third Ring Road, ...

However, he just didn’t drive the car back to the Land Family home.

He spent the entire afternoon driving aimlessly, with her image popping into his mind from time to time, like a vicious cycle.

Feeling a bit annoyed, he pulled over to the roadside and lit a cigarette.

...

Sophie Smith glanced at the time; it was already past ten in the evening, yet Asher Land still hadn’t come home. It seemed he was angry with her too. Since they were both irritated with each other, why continue this mutual torment? Was there any point?

She lay in bed, tossing and turning, but she just couldn’t fall asleep.

She felt a bit hungry, so she pulled off the covers and got out of bed to see if there was anything to eat in the kitchen, as she hadn’t eaten much all day.

As she went downstairs, she ran into Nanny Garcia, who was about to rest.

"Miss Smith, it’s so late; is there anything you need?" Nanny Garcia asked.

"Oh, nothing, nothing," Sophie said, brushing past Nanny Garcia as she walked toward the kitchen.

Nanny Garcia was a bit surprised; why was Sophie heading to the kitchen so late? She didn’t think much of it and followed Sophie to the kitchen.

In the large kitchen, Sophie searched around but couldn’t find any ready-to-eat food.

"Miss Smith, are you, are you hungry?"

"A little bit," she admitted truthfully.

"How about I make you something to eat? It’s so late; the chef has already gone to rest, but I’m afraid my cooking may not match the chef’s skills..."

"Oh, no need to trouble yourself, Nanny Garcia. It’s so late; you should go rest too." She didn’t want to bother Nanny Garcia, so she walked straight out of the kitchen. Going hungry for one night wouldn’t kill her.

As Sophie left, Nanny Garcia suddenly remembered something and quickly took out her phone.

Didn’t the young master say to inform him if Miss Smith needed anything? And now, Miss Smith was hungry...

But if the young master was busy with something else, it might be inappropriate to call him just for Miss Smith’s hunger.

After hesitating for a moment, she decided to make the call.

Asher Land was resting in his car when he heard the phone ring. He quickly picked it up, and seeing it was a call from Nanny Garcia, he immediately felt a rush of anxiety.

"What happened? Is there something wrong with her?" he asked, his tone slightly anxious.

"Oh, young master, there’s no need to worry. Miss Smith is fine, it’s just..."

"Just what?"

"It’s just that she’s a bit hungry, but the chef has already gone off duty, and I’m afraid what I can make won’t suit Miss Smith’s taste..." Nanny Garcia explained honestly.

Without saying a word, Asher Land hung up the phone and drove directly to a high-end restaurant.

He placed the packed food in the car, glanced at the time — was it already so late? Would she be asleep when he returned? The thought of her possibly going to bed hungry made him feel a bit distressed.

He floored the gas pedal, and the car sped away.

For the first time, Sophie Smith experienced how painful hunger could be,

Her stomach growled continuously; luckily, Asher Land wasn’t there, or she’d be so embarrassed. But thinking carefully, wouldn’t it be nice if he was there? He wouldn’t let her go hungry.

He was most sensitive about others saying that he couldn’t even feed a woman...

"Sophie, stop thinking about it." She pulled the covers over her head, trying to hide her flustered emotions. Why was she thinking about him? Weren’t they in a cold war right now?
