Chapter 263 - 259: Don’t You Ever Learn? (Part 1)
Wyatt Sterling naturally also heard those unpleasant comments, as if controversy never left her side.
The man named Asher Land was the one who thrust her into the center of the storm.
"Don’t overthink it." He casually handed the menu to her, "What do you want to eat?"
Sophie Smith showed a faint helpless smile, she had heard enough of such rumors. If she kept all of them in her heart, she might already have been overwhelmed.
She glanced at the menu and randomly picked a few dishes.
The two ate together and chatted happily, and the atmosphere became lively. Their topics were broad, yet subconsciously, they both avoided three words.
Asher Land.
Sophie knew in her heart that ever since she got involved with Asher Land, most of her time had been occupied by him. If others asked her about recent happenings, aside from Asher Land, she truly didn’t know where to begin.
Thinking about it, she felt pretty pathetic.
You don’t want to make that man your central point, yet he incessantly lingers within your life circle, and you can’t shake him off.
...
Asher Land checked his watch when he walked out of the conference room; it was five thirty in the afternoon.
If he went to her company to pick her up, maybe they could still have dinner together tonight.
Without much thought, he drove straight to her company.
As soon as Asher Land entered the lobby of the management company, he ran into Sunny.
"President Land, Sophie went to attend the filming ceremony of the new drama today. She won’t return to the company. Didn’t she tell you?" Sunny asked with curiosity.
"No." He felt a bit annoyed.
"Sophie really is something, not even letting you know and making you come all the way for nothing." But considering Sophie’s attitude towards Asher Land that people in their company had witnessed, she was quite stubborn, so it was possible she hadn’t even informed Asher Land about her new drama.
"President Land, this drama is something Sophie took on by herself. It will officially start filming in a few days, and she will be quite busy then, likely not coming to the company often. If you want to pick her up, it’s better to call and confirm her whereabouts first..." Sunny advised kindly.
"You say, she accepted this drama on her own?" Asher Land was a bit puzzled.
"Yes." Sunny nodded, "The producer of this drama is Wyatt Sterling. Probably Sophie agreed because they’ve worked together before. She didn’t discuss it with me!"
Wyatt Sterling, again Wyatt Sterling!
Asher Land’s fists involuntarily tightened a bit more; he repeatedly warned her not to get close to other men, yet she stubbornly refused to listen. Didn’t she realize that Wyatt Sterling always harbored ill intentions towards her?
"Where is the location of the filming ceremony?" he asked in a low voice.
"Ah? Are you going there to pick her up now? She might already be gone, it’s past five..."
"Just tell me, where is the location?" He wasn’t very patient.
Sunny dared not ask further, and gave him the address.
Without saying a word, he commanded Robert Williams to drive the car toward that direction.
...
Sophie and Wyatt Sterling lingered over their meal for a long time, so much so that even after Julia left, they remained at the table chatting.
The drizzle outside had turned into a torrential downpour, with large raindrops pelting against the window with a loud noise.
Sophie glanced out the window, seeing that it was already dark, and she stood up.
"Senior Brother, I should be going back."
If she stayed any later, Asher Land would probably come looking for her again.
