Chapter 238 - 237: Wake Him Up (1)
"Nanny Garcia, I’m going to rest first." Her mood suddenly became a bit low, so she got up and walked upstairs.
"Right, Miss Smith, I wanted to discuss something with you." Nanny Garcia spoke up, stopping Sophie Smith.
"Hmm?"
"The young master likes to drink, but drinking too much is harmful to his health. I’ve advised him many times, but he doesn’t listen. Miss Smith, if you have time, please help me persuade the young master."
"But even if I say something, he might not listen." How could she have the ability to change his preferences? She was probably thinking too highly of herself.
"I’m just worried about the young master’s health. He has so many social engagements every day..."
Sophie didn’t want Nanny Garcia to worry, so she agreed.
"I’ll try to find an opportunity to talk to him."
"Okay." Nanny Garcia looked at Sophie thankfully, as if she had truly helped her with a huge problem.
...
For the first time, Asher Land was sleeping later than her. Luckily, it was the weekend, so he didn’t need to go to the company.
Sophie stood by the bed, looking at the still-motionless Asher Land, feeling a bit troubled.
Nanny Garcia asked her to come upstairs to wake Asher for lunch, but she felt a bit scared and didn’t know if he had a morning temper. What if she irritated him by waking him like this?
But downstairs, Nanny Garcia kept urging her, so Sophie had no choice but to muster up her courage and woke him up.
"Hey, it’s lunchtime." She stood by the bed and gently called out.
Asher Land turned over, ignoring her.
"You..."
Sophie was just about to react, but after thinking it over, she realized it was the first time he woke up later than her. It wouldn’t be very considerate of her to complain. Usually, no matter how late she woke up, he would patiently wake her and have Nanny Garcia prepare her breakfast. So today...
"Asher Land, wake up." She leaned on the edge of the bed, speaking to that handsome face.
"What’s the noise early in the morning?" He frowned with his eyes closed, displeased.
Sophie glanced at the wall clock, twelve twenty-five? He had the nerve to call it early morning?
"It’s already twelve, lunch is prepared. Irene and I are waiting for you to get up and join us." She said patiently.
"I’m not eating." He replied to her words, but he never opened his eyes.
If he didn’t get up soon, the food would get cold. Could she really have everyone accompany him in hunger?
She quietly moved her small face closer to him, "Get up, how many times do I have to repeat myself?"
Her warm breath reached his ear, unexpectedly prompting him to suddenly open his dark eyes. Sophie was startled and tried to pull away, but it was too late.
His big hand pulled her body over, pressing her beneath him, the movement swift.
"Lunch, it’s time to eat." She stuttered a bit.
"Eat?" He shook his head, "Right now I just want to eat... you."
"Stop messing around, will you?" Sophie tried to push him away, but he remained unmoved.
But he wouldn’t listen to her. The more she asked him to stop, the more he teased.
"Asher Land!" She couldn’t help but raise her voice, simultaneously stopping his large hand from undressing her, "Everyone’s waiting for us to eat. Can you really let them wait?"
"Why not?" He chuckled softly, "If they knew we’re so ’lovingly intertwined,’ they’d surely be happy to wait another couple of hours."
"..."
Downstairs, Nanny Garcia and Irene Morton looked puzzled. Sophie had been upstairs calling Asher Land to lunch for about an hour now, but still hadn’t come down?
However, since it was Asher Land’s master bedroom, naturally, they didn’t dare to go up.
