Sophie Smith collected her emotions, walked into the supermarket, and did some shopping. Before long, her cart was heaped full, which perhaps gave her a sense of accomplishment.
Back home, she began to busy herself. She did not cook often, so her culinary skills were not particularly refined.
When a table full of unremarkable dishes was laid out, even she was somewhat exasperated.
After so much hard work, it seemed it would have been better to eat out at a restaurant.
She took a bottle of red wine from the fridge. Her alcohol tolerance wasn’t great, but when she felt a bit down, she couldn’t resist having a few glasses.
"Sophie, here’s to regaining your freedom." She raised her glass and drank it all in one go.
