Chapter 20: The Man Who Haunts Relentlessly
Her body grew somewhat stiff, as everyone’s gaze fell upon her with unabashed mockery, like a sharp sword ready to slice through every inch of her skin.
"No need to feel embarrassed. You deserve the leading role." Anna said, patting her shoulder, then walked out of the dressing room.
What else could she say? She couldn’t say anything.
She couldn’t proudly stand before those who doubted her and declare, "I am not Asher Land’s woman. I got this role entirely through my own efforts."
Sophie Smith’s performance on set was commendable; when she faced those cameras, she became a different person entirely. Her acting skills were extremely strong, and the director was quite satisfied with her.
"Sophie, that’s it for today." After filming the last night scene, it was already ten in the evening. Sophie changed and prepared to rest at a nearby hotel.
She wandered aimlessly on the desolate street, her shadow elongated by the moonlight. Step by step, she boredly counted her paces until suddenly, a beam of light illuminated her, prompting her reflexively to shield her eyes.
