Chapter 2078 – Perks, Actually
‘Uhhh, Gaia, you gave me the Fertility Cycle already, effectively?’ the Gamer thought and scratched the back of his head. ‘Well, not like I was going to pick it. Even if I didn’t have the guarantee, it’s hardly like I am lacking for attempts to hit the fertile period. I do, however, need to actually be able to impregnate them.’
“Logically…” Nahoa carefully raised her voice. She had learned from her early experience with Jane not to step on any toes with the bravado of a drunken hippo. “…the Artificial Impregnation should be the priority?”
All of the other elemental ladies looked to Gnome, who looked hurriedly in both directions before stammering, “Uhm, uh… yes?” She cleared her throat. “I mean… we decided to collectively move into wave 4 and you are in wave 1, so it does follow, yeah.”
“A simple choice, then,” John said and pressed the button. “Onto agenda item 4: Class Levels. I got 7 available now that I was saving up for Breeder. I think I’ll do a bit of a sweep of currently available Classes. 1 Level in Monster Girl Creator, Master of Magic, Guild Hall Architect and Lover each, leaving with me 3 in the bank to focus on Monster Girl Creator as I clear future Class Challenges.”
No objection was raised against that plan and so John pressed the necessary buttons for the first of those Classes.
Two interesting repeats and a Perk that altered the fabric of reality within his realm. Ignoring the degrees of insanity of the mechanics at play beneath the hood, the actual choice was difficult. Monopoly was naturally the selfish choice, while the Monster Girl Market presented him with a hybrid option between control and profit, while Monstergirlification gave more choices to his subjects.
“Any opinions on the matter?” he asked. “Scarlett, going to convince me to go for the market?”
“No,” the redhead responded immediately, to the Gamer’s surprise.
“Really?”
“Is your erudite mind failing you? There’s an obvious fucking problem with it.” Scarlett pinched the edge of the hovering window with two fingers and turned it around as if it was a weightless pane. She pointed straight at the offending word. “Taught. You have to teach it. Time is money and your time is worth billions. It’s not a good return on investment.”
That was a valid point. The Perk was vague on how long it would take to teach and whether those taught could then further pass that knowledge on. If they could and he wanted that, why wouldn’t he just go for Monstergirlification anyhow? It just cut out the middleman.
“So, really, it’s between the left and the right option,” John muttered, “and I think the world deserves more monster girls, so foregoing that option feels… bad.”
“Go for it,” Jane encouraged him.
A button press later, the first choice was made.
That one was fairly simple and all his choice to make. Master of Magic was his indulgence Class, after all. He had no reason to pick New School until he was happy with what he could do baseline. Efficiency he had contemplated before and it was only necessary if John wanted to make use of Free Casting during combat – which he did not. He was happy to have his ‘narrow’ skillset be what he went into fights with. Elementals gave him enough flexibility for that anyhow.
So, Complexity II was the Perk of choice. Another button pressed and another choice made.
“Mhmm…” John hummed deeply. “All quite attractive… really a question of our priorities.”
“I think we can safely discard the Second One option,” Lydia remarked.
Undine hummed a gorgeous note before voicing her agreement, “There is little point in you placing down a second one limited in its Tier, when you can achieve the same by adding another to this harem.”
“Not what I plan to do, but categorically correct. Lover is even likely to give you more Tiers anyhow… So if it comes to upgrading our quantity of Guild Halls, going with the middle Perk would be the best option.” John rubbed his chin. “That would be 260 Room Slots right now, versus 500 in my Guild Hall.”
“For which there is an argument to be made,” Metra chimed in. “That’d be a… what? 10% increase on how many Room Slots you have?”
“Affirmative,” Beatrice answered before he could. “Analysis: economy of scale suggests that strong centralized areas are often more effective. In the Guild Hall case, this is certainly true. 500 additional Room Slots would enable several additions of high Tier Buildings that went ignored so far.”
“But putting all our eggs in one basket has its own risk, especially in an empire as sprawling as ours,” John cautioned. “Plus, you all know what I emotionally tilt towards, especially now that we are re-aligning ourselves from focusing on my conquests to focusing on your individual goals.”
That had all of his haremettes nod. There were those that were in favour of him picking the more centralized option. Most of his maids, with the notable exceptions of Delicia (wary of centralized structures even if he led them) and Nahoa (who wanted to make her Guild Hall the capital of her queendom), were for it and several other haremettes, Lorelei, Siena, Metra and Ehtra, had their own belief in centralism over decentralism. Even their stance was not solid.
Everyone understood that the Guild Hall already was so far ahead that their equivalents would likely never completely catch up. John quite doubted Gaia would allow them to even reach Tier 5, much less Tier 5.5. The position as the resource capital wasn’t threatened. Pairing that with the reality of the sheer size of the Fusion Empire really illustrated the need for secondary capitals. They, as a group, had means to teleport around the place, but their subjects and administrators required local places to turn to.
“Diversification it is,” the Gamer announced, pressing the button for the third Perk selection.
“God, all of these are so good,” John groaned.
“But the choice is still fucking obvious,” Scarlett stated.
“I suppose so,” the Gamer sighed.
“Personal Packages could be a complete hit or miss,” Jane chimed in, “and it ain’t even that useful. Some of us are social felines that’d not get anything done with just 10 slots and some of us are Eliana.”
“It’s fu-dging true, I wouldn’t invite one shhhhhhipping person,” the mother of his first child agreed.
‘God, she really is the mother of my first child,’ John realized once more, pleasant shivers running down his spine. His cock, barely kept at half mast so far, suddenly jumped back to full mast.
“For me?” Momo asked, already rising up.
“No, we are not done with item 4 of the agenda.” His response made the fairy maid plop back down. Grumbling, she pulled her knees against her chest and pouted. Was there anything more adorable than a loving fae upset she wasn’t allowed to service his needs? Well, John suspected he would have a ‘yes’ to that question in about 9 months. Until then, there were only ties. “Salamander, could you…?”
“Wrap my huge, hot tits around your dick? Don’t mind if I do.” The fire spirit flew on over and settled between his parted legs.
“How I missed this life,” he groaned while he was treated to being the meat in a blazing sandwich of desire. ‘That… is not the most attractive metaphor I ever made,’ he thought, then glanced at the way his dick disappeared between the mountains of red, pliable meat. ‘Ah, who cares – tits.’
“Connected Halls does have utility,” Lee spoke up, “but, well, you have me. Having a failsafe for me is good, but is it as valuable as having all the Tier limits go up by 1? Absolutely not.”
“Yeah, that about sums it up,” John agreed with a groan.
Ehtra did a swift listing, “It would enable Jane, Eliana, Lorelei, Lee, Scarlett, Hailey, Nia, Undine, Gnome, Lyly, Gale and Lyn to get to Tier 3, and everyone else to Tier 1.”
“Indeed,” John confirmed. It was especially the last point that was valuable. The leap from Tier 0 to Tier 1 was quite large, transforming it from a small outpost to something that could be actively used as a base of operations. It was borderline impossible to compete with that much value, which was partly born from just how huge his harem was. “Well, I don’t think there’s much to talk about here then.”
One more press of the button had the last choice locked in. The remaining 3 Class Levels he kept, he would spend on the Monster Girl Creator Class as he cleared the Class Challenges.
“Are we done now?!” Momo asked.
“Jesus, you are eager to get your mind wiped today, aren’t you?” John asked.
“I will not be criticized for being horny by a guy who can’t even make life-altering decisions without a pair of tits around his dick,” Momo declared.
“Everyone,” Jane spoke up with a huge smirk on her face, “I just wanna remind that Momo ran around with a remote control vibrator in her the entire break week.”
“Oy!”
Eliana raised an eyebrow. “Are we acting like that’s unusual now?”
“Shameless admission: I also did it.”
“Certainly, it is the duty of a maid to squirm when her Master demands it,” Aclysia stated plainly.
“Absolutely!” Claire declared.
“I mean… once I knew it was allowed,” Lee said slowly.
“You guys leave the house without a vibrator?” Sylph asked, flabbergasted.
“Horny creatures…” Ehtra groaned, despite being ‘guilty’ of this herself.
“Uhm… ehem…” Delicia let out the rare shy voice. “Since we are… unloading all of our sexual needs… I’d like to join the hypno-slavery for the day.”
“Same! Even more than usual!” Claire declared. “I was happy to just serve the usual way, I was happy to just be, I was happy to make myself useful, but since Momo broke the ice, I will endeavour to do the same.”
John sighed, as if the responsibility of putting his three hypno-fetishists under was a heavy one and not a privilege that made his dick harder than a steel rod. “Well, I said after agenda 4 is done with…” he relented and snapped his fingers. Even knowing who he was about to target, all of his harem shivered in unison. “Mind control.”
He did not have to narrow the criteria on who was affected. That specific command only worked on the trio of maids. There were several submissives who would like it to work on them as well, like Eliana and Lyndell, but they could not quiet their mind enough to be dissolved in the total obedience required. To pretend one was enslaved down to the thought, to follow that logic to the point of making it a consensual reality, was not easily achieved.
“Are you under my sway?” he asked the three women.
“””Yes, Master,””” they responded in entranced slowness. Their gazes were vacant of their own will, their expressions empty save for the beginnings of a smile. Even in this suggestible state, they could not entirely hide the joy they felt at being controlled by him.
“Good. Dress and stand against that wall.” He pointed at the decorated wallpaper by the entrance. “You will gladly wait for your Master. To be patient for my orders is second in bliss only to receiving them.”
“””Yes, Master, we will stand against the wall and gladly wait for you,””” the three responded with arousing synchronicity. They left their individual spots on the Couch and took their assigned positions, the maid uniforms growing from their skin in the usual process.
They lined themselves up in a fashion entirely devoid of will. Reduced to dolls, they did not even strike a pose to entice him. They were almost perfectly still. Only their breathing gave away they were not lifelike statues.
John groaned, his orgasm washing over him suddenly and powerfully. Salamander caught the signs just in time to make him finish between her lips. Gulp for gulp, she swallowed his load, then was right back to shaking her magnificent tits for him.
“Last point on the mechanics agenda,” John said. “Skill Evolution of Summon Sprite.”
“Oh, that’s ready?” Jane asked.
“I had a week to spam it for the remaining 15 Skill Levels,” John answered and pushed a few buttons. “I didn’t get any EXP, lack of sex and all that, but I did get that done.”
“Summon Elemental is right out,” John declared immediately. “I had enough troubles with the one time I had an elemental contracted and obedient only because of magical guarantees.”
“A horrid time,” Siena drawled, sarcastically. “Though I agree it would be frustrating to find a disobedient servant in the throes of combat.”
“I really, really, really, really, really, really,” Sylph inhaled deeply to continue talking, “admire the way you can make everything sound like an innuendo, Siena!”
A husky chuckle left the voluptuous hourglass of a woman. “It comes with the voice.”
“So I have a choice between something admittedly useful in terms of utility and summoning clusters of slightly smarter servants… I am tilting towards the former.”
“It, uh, does cover the issue you were thinking you might have about mindless Sprites taking hastily done orders and committing heinous war crimes,” Gnome agreed.
John usually considered himself a calm and collected person, even in the middle of war. That being said, he was not perfect. If he was fighting back someone while he knew several of his women were beset by threats, a summon could be sent out with a hasty order of ‘deal with everyone in your path’. That order, to the stupid Sprites, could then cause them to literally take out not just allies but also non-combatants who just happened to be in that area.
Cramming a bit of reason into them would help.
Imbue Sprite did have a multitude of use-cases, which were nice. First and foremost in his mind was to give imbued items to his children so they could call upon a guardian. The problem with that was threefold. First, he had no idea how long the imbue would last. By what he could intuit from experience, he’d guess it would start at a day and scale to a maximum of two weeks. That seemed in the ballpark of how he was balanced, broadly speaking.
Second, it relied on said children being calm enough under pressure to remember uttering a command phrase. That was, by and large, a horrifically stupid assumption. Kids could be clever, but one ought not rely on them having a spur of genius under stress.
Third, anyone dastardly enough to consider abducting one of his kids would have to be prepared enough to deal with something of the level of a Sprite. If they weren’t, the regular security he was going to employ would be enough.
“Summon Sprites is just the universally best choice,” he concluded and pressed the button. Then, he checked his Character Sheet.
“Alright, now for the return to reality,” John sighed. “Lydia, Lulu, I assume you are about to leave us again?”
“Correct,” the queen confirmed.
The imperial tomboy pouted, yet did nod. “It must be, we are afraid.”
“And the rest of us have another appointment.” John looked over the rest of his harem. “I did make Max a promise we’d help him squash the Upset rebellion in its infancy, so I would commit the majority of us to that task. Obviously, you can each choose whether you want to go.”
“I owe Maximillian greatly.” Everyone turned to Claire. That she broke the mind control to make that declaration said everything about the depth of her obligation. “He aided you in saving me from Arkeidos. I would repay him even if he weren’t your friend, Master.”
The Gamer nodded approvingly, then waited for the decisions of the rest of his harem.
