Quinlan clenched his jaw, shoulders twitching as he managed to get the words out through gritted teeth. "I’m level 40..."
His gaze then shifted toward the ceiling, becoming even more unimpressed. "Soul Records, are you kidding me? I grinded the damn cultivation stages like a man possessed. Peak of Spirit Tempering, I perfected my style, became an Avatar-level combatant! I’m confident to say that I became even stronger than her, so then why didn’t I get a single ding?! Not one! No level-ups! No XP!"
The four women turned to him in perfect sync with equally flat stares. Just by a mere, passing look at the man, his swirling elemental eyes, his aura of extreme power... and they could all tell how strong he became as a result of his trial, yet here he was, bitching about his lack of XP.
It was almost comedic how rehearsed their collective side-eye looked.
