Beyond Chaos – A DiceRPG

[1677] – Y07.177 – A Man of Family VII

“Daddy needs to go make a potion for the Malika for the week so he’ll be staying here, so why don’t you let ahm and aila spoil you, okay?” Adam said as they stepped out of the temple, lifting his twins up, planting kisses all over their foreheads.

“Daddy…” Jirot peeked up towards her father, the girl fluttering her lashes towards him, and though her father stumbled upon seeing her eyes, he leaned in to continue to shower her in affection.

“Daddy is going to give a big gift to the Malika so she’ll owe daddy quite a bit, and then I’ll use that to spoil you all properly, okay?”

“Okay…”

Mulrot glanced aside to the half elf, and as she caught the eyes of the others around them, she motioned with her hands, and they surrendered the position to her.

“Grandmother?” Adam called, his eyes falling upon the older woman.

“I will remain beside you.”

“Grandmother…” Adam could see the look within her eyes, and with that he surrendered to her, for she was not here just to protect Adam from others, but no doubt she was going to keep an eye on him.

Sonarot, too, considered to remain for a moment, but she had to watch over her daughters, and Amal, without Adam, would look for her, and she could not allow the child to know such a pain within her heart.

Pam walked out beside Jurot, and at first she had thought he had done quite well in dealing with his rage, but upon seeing how he walked, the way his muscles remained tense, she realised that he, too, had barely managed to contain himself. As the moments passed, his body relaxed, but it was only when he lifted the triplets up, carrying the girls in each arms, and allowing Karot to wrap his arms around the man’s muscular neck, did he begin to truly relax.

‘The Grand Malawi should never have spoken such words,’ Jurot thought, and with that, his thoughts and anger dissipated into the air, for the Iyr would not allow him to speak such words, not to their children, not to these children.

‘It seems the Iyr must confirm the matter within Aswadasad too,’ Baztam thought, and as he let out a sigh, his eyes fell towards the little girl who was half flying through the air within her papo’s arms, for if he looked at the other twins, he may have taken action then.

Yet, they could not speak of it. Not now, not while the Amira was nearby, and not while they remained within the land of sun and gold. As they finally returned, the children remained within their family’s arms, and even Vonda, who so normally could contain her anger, needed to hold her twins, the two enjoying her arms, and even though she tried to run the game of Warriors and Wanderers, it was Jirot, instead, who took charge, and she began to run the game for her siblings.

“What!” Adam gasped, staring down at his daughter once he returned later, the darkness not yet taking the sky, and lightning and thunder rumbled in the distance. “You ran a game for your siblings?”

“Mummy is no good at Warriors and Wanderers.”

“Is it that your mummy is no good at Warriors and Wanderers, or that you are not good at playing with mummy?”

“Mummy is no good at Warriors and Wanderers.”

“…”

“…”

“Well, nobody is perfect.”

“What are you saying, daddy? Mummy is perfect! So perfect, so gorgeous, so powerful!”

“Ah, of course.”

“Of coas.”

“Of course,” came the echo, finalising their conversation, and they did not continue the conversation that said their mother was no good at Warriors and Wanderers.

Adam’s eyes darted around the place, finding Lucy and Mara were currently in meditations, and as lightning flashed in the distance, the thunder rumbling, he could assume where Bael was. A gentle rain began to fall upon the land in the evening, causing them to return to sleep, and Adam was glad the children hadn’t seemed too taken aback by the Grand Malawi.

‘If he had made them regress I don’t know what I’d do…’

As Adam held his children within his arms that next morning, his eyes fell to the ceiling, feeling the children sucking away at their thumbs, the twins holding one another’s hands, and within the large wall known as their father, they could sleep so peacefully.

Jirot stirred later in the night, Jarot a moment later, and the girl rubbed her eyes.

“Daddy,” the girl whispered, clasping her hand against her cheek, while she was right beside her father’s ear.

Adam kissed her forehead. “Come on.”

Jirot blinked, for her father had awoken so quickly? She had not realised her father had remained awake until that point, and once he changed them, the twins remained within their father’s arms, and she cuddled right up against his chest, falling back to sleep quickly. Jarot, too, snoozed a moment later.

Seeing how they had returned back to sleep so quickly, the half elf let out a soft sigh, closed his eyes, and allowed the Grand Malawi to live another day.

In the morning, such a tension had taken to the air, and though it was still abuzz with noise thanks to a particular fool, the others noticed how the children were different than usual, some slightly quieter, others slightly louder.

“Nano, you are going to stay?” Jirot asked as she reached up to her greatmother’s sleeve.

“I must make sure your father does not cause too much trouble, and others do not trouble your father much,” Mulrot said, beaming down towards the girl.

“Oh…” Jirot looked down, and the woman almost broke, but thankfully a shadow engulfed the girl.

“I am not your father so you cannot bully me this way. If I was your favourite ahm, perhaps I would allow you to bully me this way, but I know you will not say it, because you will bully me, even if I do not deserve it.”

The girl side eyed the man beside her, deciding not to reply, for he was too right about his thoughts.

“Today, you will spend the day with me!” Korin declared, lifting up the girl, tossing her up, catching her, and he picked up Jarot, who suddenly twitched, but his ahm, knowing the boy’s heart, did not throw him up, for the boy was afraid of heights, so instead, kept him close to his chest, and brushed the boy’s thick hair, peeking down into his amber eyes, causing little Jarot to flush and hide himself against his chest.

“I shall spoil you too,” Sara called, the woman reaching out a finger to poke Jirot’s nose, causing her to flush and reach for her nose.

“Okay!”

Mulrot smiled, waving towards the pair of children, and then those who she should adopt into the Iyr, if they weren’t already coveted by her grandson, and she stepped away, following after Adam. As they made their way to the temple, within the carriage, she noticed how, for a moment, her grandson’s eyes took such a look, the kind of look he could not possess as the husband of a Ray, and yet he was also one who was the grandson of the Mad Dog, the Ascending Swallow, and, without a doubt, Flame Brand.

‘I should just kill him!’ Adam thought, clenching his fist tight, but as his grandmother held onto his fist, he relaxed it, and the pain of clenching his fist so tightly began to thrum and grow numb.

“You must be careful with your hands, for it would not be good to accidentally make a mistake with the Malika, when she is not related to this matter,” Mulrot said, brushing along the half elf’s hand gently.

“I know, I-,” Adam began, only to quickly realise what the woman had actually said, taking her sight within his own. He was certain he wouldn’t do anything to the Grand Malawi, but he hadn’t realised the Iyrmen had basically confirmed they needed to do something. ‘…’

Once the children had finished their play that morning, it was around noon when Korin finally called the children, not just the twins, but also the triplets, and he dared not to ignore Jirot.

“I have a restaurant I wish to take you to,” Korin said, smiling brightly towards the children, and since he was their ahm, shouldn’t he open up his pouch and allow silvers, and knowing their taste, gold, to spill out?

“It’s okay, ahm, we can stay here,” Jirot replied, beaming brightly towards the man. “We can play Warriors and Wanderers and I will run the game for you, because although daddy is a Master, and a Game Master, I am a Game Master, and when it comes to causing trouble, I am at least a Paragon!”

Korin blinked, noting the brightness on the girl’s face, and how it did not reach her eyes. He smiled brightly, reaching out to pick up the girl, and for a moment, even he could feel the emotions flash through him. It was because he was so weak that they did not trust him in this regard.

“We should take Lucy and Mara to the market too,” Sara said, and as she did, she entrusted the rest of the matter with one of the few who could actually bring the children out.

“I would like to go too,” Vonda said, beaming brightly. “I shall ask Bael to accompany us, for certainly he will not refuse a summons from my daughter, who is such a Paragon in such matters?”

Jirot flushed, pouting slightly, hiding her face within her ahm’s chest. “Okay…”
