Chapter 2437 - 675: Going Home! An Argument? (Part 2)
Everyone gradually started feeling drowsy, their eyelids growing heavier and heavier. An Yiqing’s footsteps sounded like a lullaby, drifting farther and farther away from them, longer and longer.
Just then, a pressure came from nowhere and swept over them. The group, who had been on the verge of falling asleep, jolted awake from their doze. They raised their heads in horror and saw Xia Hau glaring at them, cold light flashing in his eyes, his whole body exuding a harsh chill. Seeing the Old Prince and the others clear-headed again, Xia Hau let out a breath and withdrew the pressure from his body.
The Old Prince and the others stared at each other. Had they just almost been hypnotized?!
They looked at Xia Hau in confusion. Xia Hau pointed at An Yiqing, signaling them to keep quiet. At this moment, An Yiqing’s footsteps slowly stopped. She crouched in front of the man and blew a handful of powder toward his nose. The man, who had been using his spiritual power to resist nonstop, suddenly stopped moving after inhaling the powder.
"Who are you?" An Yiqing asked.
"Viscount of the Lasombra Clan of the Blood Clan Devil Sect, Fel." The man spoke mechanically, as if bewitched.
Everyone held their breath and stared wide-eyed at this scene. Had it... actually worked?!
"Why did you betray the Blood Clan?" An Yiqing asked again.
Fel paused for a moment, as if struggling. But in the end the power of hypnosis still defeated his spiritual power, and he answered mechanically, "I love Nuowa. I want to give her everything."
Nuowa? Everyone looked at each other. Who was that?
"Who is Nuowa?" An Yiqing asked.
This time, Fel stayed silent even longer. His expression seemed pained, his consciousness slowly coming back. Seeing this, An Yiqing immediately scattered another handful of powder. After Fel inhaled it, his expression gradually calmed.
"Nuowa is the next Saintess of The Church, my goddess." Fel said mechanically.
An Yiqing turned to look at everyone. The Old Prince and the others all showed shock on their faces. So Fel had betrayed the Blood Clan for a Saintess and something called love?!
Bach was furious inside. He’d been cultivating this kid in every possible way, and in the end, for a woman, the boy had almost wiped out the entire Blood Clan?!
"About The Church, what else do you know?" An Yiqing asked again.
Fel paused, then said, "The Church wants to kill the Blood Emperor’s heir. They’re preparing to plant people inside the Bruch Family. The current Saintess and the Pope have fallen out; she seems to disagree with the Pope’s plan to exterminate the entire Blood Clan. Nuowa is very troubled and doesn’t know whose side to take."
Xia Hau and the others looked at each other. The Church actually had this kind of gossip? The Saintess didn’t agree with exterminating the entire Blood Clan—why?
"Do you know who the Saintess is?" An Yiqing also found it strange and asked.
Fel shook his head, indicating he didn’t know. Which made sense—since that Nuowa intended to use him, she naturally wouldn’t tell him too much.
"Anything else we should ask?" An Yiqing asked Xia Hau.
Xia Hau thought for a moment and said, "Ask him whether there are any other traitors besides him."
An Yiqing asked as instructed. Fel shook his head without even thinking. "The Blood Clan’s management is too cautious; it’s very hard to plant traitors. However, The Church seems to be planning to target the people around Mr. Xia."
A terrifying aura swept down on Fel like a tidal wave. Fel, who was under hypnosis, shuddered and snapped awake from his trance. In horror he saw Xia Hau’s eyes blood-red, staring at him like a dead man. Fel’s face went pale, his throat tasted of blood, and he spat out a mouthful of it.
"Haozi." An Yiqing called out.
Xia Hau froze, glanced at the blood-spitting Fel and the deathly pale Bali Eddie, then instantly came back to himself and withdrew his pressure. After what happened to his parents last time, harming the people around him had become a taboo for Xia Hau. Now that Fel had brought it up, it was inevitable his emotions slipped out of control.
"Sorry," Xia Hau said, guilt-ridden.
The Old Prince wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Mr. Xia, it’s fine. I understand how you feel."
Xia Hau tugged at the corner of his mouth but couldn’t manage a smile. It was obvious he was thinking again of the scene of his parents’ car accident, lying in bed in a coma, unable to wake.
An Yiqing sighed but didn’t say anything more. She turned to look at Fel, her gaze slightly cold. "Mr. Fel, for a woman you were willing to have the entire Blood Clan buried with you. You really are an outstanding man."
Fel was terrified. "What did you do to me?!" His mind was blank; it felt like he had just forgotten something.
An Yiqing let out a cold laugh and said nothing more. For this kind of man who, in the name of love, sent his own parents and clansmen to Hell, she held nothing but contempt.
Fel was taken away and locked up for now; they would decide what to do with him later.
